I must admit, I did not expect to find a traditionally Central American landrace pheno on the Canadian west coast. Jonny Chronic is actually an Ontario-based, small-batch cultivator run by a family who’ve farmed the area for generations. But Ontario is as far from BC as NYC is from Seattle—I worried how the multi-province transit would impact the bud. But it was packaged in February, and the half-ounce bag was full of sizable, spring-green buds with that sour Gold aroma, an off-white sheen, and plenty of squish.
This was a perfect day companion for the wide spectrum of activities Vancouver offers; you get plenty of pep and silliness without wanting to crawl out of your skin. Ideal for hiking in the still-snowy woods, meandering the various shops of Gastown, and when the weather is nicer, chilling at the beach. It was a smooth smoke, with 28% THC and ~3% terpenes dominated by myrcene and caryophyllene, so mostly earth and pepper on the inhale with a smidge of umami.
