Lemon Jack
4/3/2020
I snagged a half-oz of Lemon Jack Shake from Ascension @Verdant in Cincinnati, OH.
Here's how it tested: THC - 12.1% CBD - 0% CBG - 0.1% Farnesene - 1.56mg/g Caryophyllene - 1.52mg/g Limonene - 0.77mg/g Myrene - 0.64mg/g
I immediately noticed the pungent and almost chemical-like smell (apparently from Jack H.) that this strain produced. Significantly reduced due to the 'shake' nature of the order, but still there enough to really notice it's presence.
Much like a lot of the reviews here, the first few minutes of this were pretty panicky. I get anxiety with any type of THC strain but wanted to try this straight up before mixing it with my 1:1. After about 15 minutes of mind racing/introspective thinking (really, this happens to me with most strains just more pronounced here), it really ended up mellowing out into a nice, relaxing, and smooth yet energic high. I mowed the lawn, spent some time taking pictures of my car against a beautiful sunset, worked out for 45 minutes, and was genuinely happy go lucky with not much of a care in the world. Lasted about 2-3 hours and then a nice smooth come down.
Like the other reviews mentioned this is a true Sativa with a stimulant type effect. I'm in the middle of week-2 no coffee and this really, really did the trick to get me awake.
I could imagine a top-notch sample of this that isn't shake/bottom barrel would send me over the moon in terms of anxiety. The 12% here is just enough to provide lasting effects but without wrecking your tolerance and sending your mind over the edge. If you have grade A flower, I would recommend mixing with a CBD dominant strain or 1:1 to increase synergistic medicinal effects and take some of the edge off.
As a side note - an interesting component of this strain is the high farnesene content, which supposedly helps with GI-related spasms amongst other disorders. Whether this is a hard to find terpene or it's just not included in testing from certain labs/growers is something I still haven't been able to figure out.
