What a great hit of Hawaii. Sorry, the first day I brought it back from THC Arizona, I sparked it on sunny after noon and my whole day changed. It really was a great run/batch, you could pick up all the Rommie Joe back flavor and still brought in "maui style" almost falls into the maui wowie class. Made me happy, energetic, uplifted, funny happy, heavily reducing my stress and anxiety and allowing me on focusing and being relational with people, brought down the walls and was really well done by the grow team. Brought out the essence of its Rommie heritage with the "hawaii" of it roots, fruity, but hardy with a dense undertow on the exhale. The lung expansion is not overwhelming but grows into a smooth exit even though it's a dense out...great strain for Stress and "being" with people, not just "being there" ~ Great Job from growers...
I believe it's one of those strains that "when done right" really brings out the points that make this Indica great. I recently found a team that was growing it to perfection, and purchased it from "The Source" in Las Vegas. (Thanks Leurie!) Rating in the 20%+ range, perfectly cured and finished. Brought the euphoric relaxation without the couchlock. Rather the true power and excellence of Lavender when that touch of Sativa in its origins is draw out by the grower so well. These are the fine points that make cannabis good but "The Chronic" great. This was produced by #GreenLifeProductions Las Vegas, and their grower brought to the forefront, in the end product, all the things that make this strain "great" not just some good weed. Kudos and props when peeps do it right. I always review and judge a strain when I get it in it's finest form possible. Otherwise I could spend years writing about all the crap I've seen. Hence a review by me will always be good, but I had to go through a lot of seeing "tumbleweed and wannabes" to get to these beauties. Quality or nothing. Stay High, Live. ~ 4Rare420Rx
Not interested in crap weed, period.
So I busted into the Herijuana I picked up recently, it's been awhile since I "went there" but I'm an INdica lover... I always love the deepness of this and other strains, such as GGlue, MK, etc...and other heavy hitters, this was no different. They were beautiful buds (check at @4Rare420Rx on IG) 👌👏👏👏 Great performer, smooth on the intake, with that deep husky (ya you know it kinda feeling) with lung expansion explosion, excellent white ash (flushed well) and smooth on the exit with the usual hearty #tokers pull. Done right this is a great strain. Was good from the start, right on the nose for scent and flavor with, what I call, “That dense undertow” on the exit. 😎💨👊💯 Great organic version of he strain and great experience from the dispensary I got it from in Tempe. (Cheers to Robin who helped me out) Great for Pain, Insomnia, PTSD anxiety, stress and overall "calmness" ~ 4Rare420Rx
I'm always intrigued by "platinum" anything, but this was a truly platinum cookies flower (beautiful #bud ) 👌👏👏👏 as GSC should be when you put the word platinum in front of it. Smooth and seriously Tasty with that clean candy, hazy, toucha skunky flavor, straight up clean. On the exhale, tastes like candy with a dank tail end. Organic with no “snap, crackle and pop” of nutes. A great strain that I've smoked many times. Was the bomb from the start, right on the nose for scent and flavor with that unique GSC high of euphoric but "cool" and able to operate, great middle of the day "gotta get shit done" kinda flower.
I was unaware of Harvest of Tempe as a location I wanted to visit, until I visited their sister dispensary in Las Vegas, "The Source" once I had been through the location I realized "Gee maybe I missed something" so I got back to AZ and put Harvest Of Tempe on my calendar and got in their this week. I was pleasantly surprised. They had a large variety of "All Organic" Flower and a broad cross section of the other SKU's vape, wax, etc. I left with three strains to checkout, Blackberry (in a pre-roll) an 1/8th of HeraJuana and an 1/8th of Platinum Cookies. I will write up individual strain reviews for those. The atmosphere was chill, friendly, open and personable with my "patient consultant" (Robin, she rocks BTW owners) The overall experience was excellent, pricing was food with a new patient discount, though as a industry insider, I was surprised they didn't offer an industry discount. On another note, I asked whether the pre-rolls were made from shag from the bottom of the bag or pure bud? The response was a mixed one "Bag Shag with Bud". I always wonder why dispensaries who are providing free or otherwise available pre-rolls don't understand that a pre-roll is your "BRAND AMBASSADOR" and should be the finest quality, not the leftovers, that pre-roll invites a buyer to try strains you carry w/out having to buy an 1/8th. Good marketers will tell you, that "Full Bud Pre-Roll" is your best reachout to retain and grow that customer. That would be my only commentary on the marketing, new patients or "strain switchers" are looking to those pre-rolls to expand their education/information into what you've got, and a pure bud pre-roll shows pure bud results. That results in return customers...The Source Las Vegas, "PURE BUD PRE-ROLLS" and you can tell the difference. Looking forward to including Harvest Tempe in my upcoming piece "Finding Chronic in Cowboy Country"
Thanks for the experience... ~4Rare420Rx
Right from the top, I’ll state pretty clearly, I’ve been in more than 500+ coffeeshops, clubs, dispensaries (you name it) in my twenty years in the business, but Las Vegas was a first and I got what I expected, not only here but at the others as well…Vegas style.
The first impression I got of Las Vegas Releaf from the outside was that I was entering a low key club or speakeasy, blacked out windows, dark door with a buzzer. The door opened to a security guard, (who I later learned holds 3 IronMan belts, has a killer sense of humor and a great laugh) a minute later, after validating my out of state card (cool) and some fun banter, I walked in, filled out the necessary forms and was on my way. From the outside signage (or lack of it) you would not have put two and two together.
Inside was a very cool, modern themed black interior with “bright colors everywhere” scene, it was hip. Nice sized LED going on the wall, listing a broad menu with a big comfortable red couch in the waiting area. Super happy and bright receptionist…“would you like a water or a candy?” Friendly? Very…
I happened to mention I was in the business and an associate of mine does business with them. Before you know it, I met their Marketing Manager as well as a Co-Founder, both of which were great, personable and clearly, very proud of their establishment and were a lot of fun to hang with and talk to, as was the crew in back that I met as we entered the main product area. Being in the business for twenty years and writing about it takes me out of the “let’s explain how a dispensary works” category and into the “show me what you’ve got” category, and so they did.
Overall product grade of everything I looked at was 5 star. (I gotta say Vegas did it right) there were no “mids” anywhere to be seen. Everything was designed in a manner of a high end retail site. I always ask behind the counter for “their” suggestions as to what to buy, Brett was well informed and very helpful, getting me a selection of products from GreenLife Productions, which I selected and took with me that day. The entire event was easy going, yet “precise” with regards to Nevada regulations, providing an experience I could see Vegas visitors enjoying having access to. Welcome to Nevada, making one of the smartest cannabis decisions to date, allowing out-of-state reciprocity, GAME CHANGER.
My final conclusion. Great Products, Smart People, Informed, Priced Right, Product Knowledge and Relational and Helpful Staff, proud of their business. THE MOST important piece, they are providing APEX grade medical product. In 5-6 months they’ve blown away markets such as Arizona, that have been at it for 3 years and still sell “tumbleweed” as medicine as a standard.
Then again, as I would realize on this fact finding trip, that’s the way Vegas does it and Las Vegas ReLeaf does it really well. ~ Rare420Rx
The critical had a nice pungent smell with dense nugs. Was well cured, though a little harsh on the exit, could be the strain, could be the cure, though harvest date showed December. Great for an Indica, smooth yet not couch lock, more "mind lock" I tired to relax and it helped quite a bit. Took the edge off my day and tasks. Not up there in the indic a ranking of MasterKush or PureKush for potent pizzazz, so 3 stars. No testing on power, so I just have to guess and would place it in the 18-20% category. Didn't hit the high notes I would expect of a Critical Mass X OG cross. It goes to show you can't just cross anything with OG and get a hit. Though it provided a euphoric and stable high, it diminished quickly. Genetics, I don't know, could be. Critical OG I've smoked before has couch-locked me with numbers in the 25% range and helps with insomnia, depression and anxiety, among others. Wouldn't go back for this one.
Overall a nice fruity taste, solid looking finished buds, great in and outflow, smooth, smoked well=cured well(Harvested in DEcember for February Sale, that's a good sign) Not as a heavy hitter but more operable strain for the daylight ramblings or errand moments. Doesn't knock you out, probably batting in the 18-20%THC range. Was good, and only say that because "great" is reserved for the prima reservas we find in the valley, such as LouisXIII, etc... as a hybrid, not bad, not a head thumper.
Well, having been in a large variety cannabis dispensaries in multiple states I have to say from the start, the aesthetics of the location immediately made me think POT3.0. It was clean, modern, hip, they definitely put time and the effort in creating a location that is inviting and fits the high level of design regarding the storefronts in it's area. Couple of small things.
1.) Thanks for the cupcakes
2.) The dispensary was stocking a lot of product in showcases that were browning, you'd want to change out those samples every couple days.
3.) The actual product when bought was of good quality flower, I did notice that unlike many other dispensaries, they place the actual harvest date on the label (The day it was cut down) other dispensaries are printing the harvest date on the day it is packaged. PLUS SIGN here, the harvest date let me know that the flower had been given appropriate time to finish and cure correctly.
4.) Manager was helpful in the process, noted that all strains are grown at their own cultivation facility.
5.) Great freebies and obviously a lot of expense on marketing, branding, aesthetics and a comfortable environment.
6.) Though stated at entry that they had testing on all product, the bud-tender was unable to produce testing results. Though there product label does state no pesticides, herbicides or fungicides, I'll have to take their word for it.
Was a great experience, much like a Doctor's office (everyone in scrubs) Selection was broad spectrum from Flower to edibles and other infused products. Very friendly staff, wait time was a little long but no problem as processed in and an overall good experience. Product purchased was as ordered, great flower, I tried the DurangoOG and the Presidential Kush as a first time "outta the gate" and was pleasantly surprised that the flower was pharmagrade, a new addition to the dispensaries I am finding while writing "Finding Chronic in Cowboy Country" Pricing break for industry and new patients, very cool. I would say on the "pre-rolls" as I say with every dispensary, a pre-roll to a patient is a calling card to come back, so pre-rolls should be rolled with the best of the bud, not the shag at then bottom of the bag. The Blue Dream pre-roll I got at departure was not a "comeback for more Blue Dream" pre-roll. Halfway through it both I and my counterparts put it out. Pre-rolls should be the best, it's your marketing tool to have patients come in and get/try new strains they found via the free roll. So a knock for that of one star on quality. Being from Mendo in Cali, when I give a joint to a patient to try, it's always my "best of show". This is prevalent across AZ dispensaries I have visited and seems to be the opposite of marketing. Also the pre-roll showed a harvest date of 12/23, so there was not a predefined curing a nd finsihing on that product that I would expect. Pre-rolls aren't a freebie for fun, they are a marketing tool for expanding strain exploration and should be treated as such. Overall a great experience.
