Lemon Kush

$15 for an eighth, it's what dub sacks should have been from this new location on Sandy. Nice airy buds with a light haze, they're a touch moist but they burn well. Motivational, uplfting and just...consistent. Great selection for work...

OG Kush

Those was some decent smoke...the cure was a touch dry but it turned quickly and evenly, a nice milky cloud that tasted like an OG should. Great price here, too.

Floyd's Fine Cannabis on Sandy

Great New location connecting the Roseway neighborhood to the 'green mile'. Big green corner building is hard to miss, and there's plenty of street parking too. I've been in a couple times and they're quickly expanding inventory and working on deals for the 'hood. Just today they offered me $15 1/8s from any of their preferred farms' strains. I chose some Lemon Kush for $18 out the door and was quite satisfied with the smoke. They'll have top-shelf deals on Sundays, and the friendly staff has promised me more selection and even better prices as business picks up. P.S. - there's a great brewery a half a block West and three or four Thai places within walking distance, make it a Saturday adventure...

Kaleafa Cannabis Co - Portland

So early in the week this place is hoppin' - decent prices plus a $1 pre-pack gram deal brings quite the crowd to this converted 4-square house right off 52nd. Tucked between two other houses and a bit worn-out looking, the small space is only accessible via the front stairs so folks with limited mobility may need assistance. Once inside the small entry you're likely to have a short wait as people examine strains like Sour Dub (at $8/gm with tax it's a steal) or Platinum Kush at $14/gm inside the sales room. With several displays and lots of counter space the tenders can serve 2 or 3 customers at any given time, plus there is a seperate medical counter for priority service of cardholders. Listed prices include tax, so your total is what the advertised price is, no special maths or extra dollars needed. As usual the buds themselves are solid, the strains offered display the right traits and the handful I've taken home represent well, specifically the Sour Dub (25% thc) and Blue Dream which exhibit exceptional flavor profiles. tl;dr on Mon and Tue you can walk out with 2 grams for under $10 and the regular prices are pretty rad too.

Parlour Cannabis Shoppe

This place fairly screams 'Oregon Trail Supplies and Provisions", it's like a pharmacy from the 1850's in some midwestern town that billed itself as the last civilized city in the territories. Clean white ceramic tiles lines the walls, giving a nice contrast to the natural wood floors and counters. Antique-looking metal shelves display jars of big green buds behind the counters, well-lit by plenty of soft-white lights/ The place is clearly held together with a theme, and it works. The service was just as dedicated, with several bud tenders on hand to help customers and several great options for a midday treat or a weekend blowout. Pre-rolls were on my radar and I was quite satisfied with the selection (although I don't remember what it was as well as I remember the store, lol). Pricing was consistent with other stores in the area, although they didn't have any super special grams or daily deals, they probably have enough business that they don't need to cater to my broke ass to keep the lights on. That said, it's nice to know this shop is here, the location means I'll drive by it on my way somewhere else and since it's riiiight next to a pretty decent taproom it's highly likely I'll stop in again. And again. The warm tone of the interior and the smiling faces of the budtenders are reason enough for that first visit, though.

The Dispensary

A solid 20% more expensive than any other dispensary in town, what you pay for is the location. You aren't buiying better buds - no, their brands and strains aren't much different than, say Farma across the river. Aside from only selling eighths (not grams) of some strains, the selection isn't spectacular. A quick comparison of menus online should confirm this... So what you're paying for, again, is the location. The service area could be any one of a dozen other dispensaries - unfinished brick, rough wood, mason jars full of pot on shelves along the wall. Not much of a display area to look at the buds but at least the budtenders aren't annoying. The bud itself varies, but I've never picked up something that didn't deliver. The deals here cost the same as most other dispensaries' 'top-shelf' equivalent so it's relative. I suppose if you're staying or working downtown and don't have the time to get across the river, and you need some smoke, it'll do the trick. I've not had bad experiences here, it's just...premium cost for regular stuff. meh.2.5 stars
