Bubble Gum

10/29/2017
One of my top 4 sativas domimant hybrids and top 10 desert island grows. This stands with Acapulco and Cactus OG as one of the best smelling strains. This true classic really does smell and taste remarkably like bubblegum. As noted, this strain took years and traveled from the Midwest to New England to Amsterdam to finally perfect. This stands with Acapulco Gold as one of my favorite morning smokes. Bubblegum is never overwhelmingly potent, but the moderate euphoria will make everything a little sunnier. This is a mostly Sativa strain that won't make you anxious or paranoid. Perfect to wake and bake on a functional day, second only to Acapulco and Cherry Pie IMO.

Animal Cookies

I've tried 'em all, and this is my personal favorite Girl Scout Cookie phenotype. More golden hued than green, with purple highlights unlike Acapulco Gold. Really does rate reminisant of animal crackers or biscotti. More relaxing and balanced than most GSC phenotypes. Great for anxiety, depression, and not too overwhelming for a day smoke (at least on weekends...). Probably a top ten strain. I've yet to meet anyone disappointed in this strain. Solid 9/10. Headspace can best be described as a mix between Acapulco and Cherry Pie, with some additional relaxation.

Cherry Pie

My no. 1 herbal anti-depressant. Only Bubblegum and Acapulco Gold are capable of the same uplifting but non-anxiolytic euphoria. Well-balanced, felt maybe 70-30 sativa dominant. A functional smoke that won't keep you awake. Easily one of my top 5 desert island grows. Smells great, and this one is a looker: with reddish hairs covered in a diamond dusting of trichromes. This is my favorite weekend smoke, and not a bad daytime smoke despite moderately high potency. A+. The best of the cherry strains (closely followed by Cherry Bomb). Much better than Cherry AK. If I could only grow 3 strains, this would make the short-list along with Acalpulco Gold as of 2017. Might make an interesting cross...

Chronic Thunder

Best strain of 2015 IMO. One of the very strongest, at ~34% when first sampled. Despite the potency, it is a well-balanced strain. Taste/smell are neither unpleasant nor anything to write home about. After I sampled this strain I immediately bought the rest of the Benson dispensary's 2 ounce supply. This bud is better than it looks, and has a slightly pungent/chemical undertone. I will say that it is the best all-around medical strain I've tried. The ultimate jack-of-all-trades. G.I. issues, stress, depression, nausea, insomnia, pain; say goodbye. One of my top 5 (at least top 10) desert island grows. Feels Indica dominant, and a great after work smoke, but won't put you out on weekends like say Hash Plant or Afghani. I don't recommend smoking more than a small toke if you need to appear sober within 4 hours. Solid A. There are better lookers, and smoother smokers, but this is the closest thing to a grand slam I've jammed. There are better strains for depression, energy, and creativity, but nothing better for nausea, muscle pain, or G.I. distress. Let Chronic Thundertheighs take your pain away...today!

Cactus

One of the top 3 best smelling strains along with Acapulco and Bubblegum. Very fruity, almost like a watermelon-kiwi smell. Smooth smoke. This is an indica in structure but feels a lot more like a 50-50 hybrid. Relaxing, but a great afternoon smoke that won't put you to sleep. Not an overwhelming high, but a unique creative headspace. Would consider growing and crossing with bubble gum or a cherry strain.

Acapulco Gold

10/28/2017
This is currently my favorite landrace strain, and probably my favorite Sativa. My dad's generation always talked up Acapulco, but until moving to Tucson I dismissed it as Cheech & Chong nostalgic B.S. No more. This is the only strain I've sampled that is truly a golden color, with practically no green, purple, or orange. It is one of (if not the only) sativa that is not at all anxiolytic. The THC content is not overwhelming compared to something like G.C. or Alaskan, but that's a good thing if you plan to go out in public. Euphoria is the defining mental characteristic. This strain helps me with depression at least as well as Cherry Pie or Bubblegum. With overtones of toffee and mocha, this is the perfect morning smoke. I've sampled a lot and this is has remained one of my top 5 desert island strains without question. This is no hipe; this is real gold.
