Purple Haze

4/12/2018
After smoking 5 joints and a backwood filled to the brim with purple haze, I was definitely the highest I’ve ever been in my life. Luckily, I didn’t feel the need to green out and instead, I was thoroughly enjoying the company of my floor mates and a few other friends. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I feel the best time to smoke weed is when one is surrounded by people that they genuinely care about, like I was. When we went back inside, I had three slices of pizza and a small tub of ice cream waiting for me. My hunger was satisfied for the night but I was truly excited about the prospect of playing charades. After a few rounds of some incredible acting, I knew it was time to sleep but lying in bed, I had this insatiable urge to listen to some music. This inspired me to create a playlist on Spotify to listen to when high. Feel free to check it out, it’s titled “lay ligHtshiP”. Congratulations if you figure out the hidden messages in the title and description. I arranged it in alphabetical order, first by the name of the artist, and then with the title of the song. I figured this would be convenient for both those who are stickelers for order, myself included, and those that would like to hit shuffle and be transported across artists, albums, genres, and finally, entire musical dimensions. This playlist contains music that I could sense in the very marrow of my bones, in the cartilage of my synovial joints, and all throughout my organ systems. All of these sensations converged into a single sensation that resulted in the entirety of my corporal being pulsating to the rhythm of the beat. Obviously, this playlist is more tailored to my taste in music so if it doesn’t align with your taste, I’m truly sorry but I hope I have at least inspired you to create a playlist when you’re high. Overall, that night is likely to be my most powerful memory from my first year of university. I will end this review with both a heartfelt message and the name of an album with some essential tracks for your high playlist in my opinion: Take Care!
