One of the best around. They have a wide selection of decently priced quality product and serve it up in a quick, professional, and friendly manner. Couldn't ask for much more.

Herbal Choices - Charleston

First let me say that I appreciate the right to purchase and possess cannabis legally so much that this review is hard to even write. Like, for real. Got to be honest, though. Atmosphere: clean, moderately professional considering the nature and size of the business, comfortable enough, and signage is clearly hung and informative regarding the process, prices etc. Definitely there is some room for improvement, but the same can be said about any retail location that is not a franchise or controlled by a corporate entity. Service: Like any retail establishment of any kind, the customer service ranges between "Ok, I guess..." and "OMG That was GREAT!" depending on who is working. 90% or more of the time you'll get at least a standard pleasant customer service retail experience with smiles and inquires as to how your day is going or comments about the weather or whatever. 90% or more is probably better than most stores of any type. Quality: Yikes. This is where I struggle the most to be truthful, so I'm going to phrase this carefully. Available product is clearly displayed and customers are given free range to inspect it for quality before purchase. There is a wide selection and quality, of course, ranges ....but widely. 80% or more of the product, regardless of its potency, is nearly entirely made up of extremely poorly trimmed, loose flowers with clearly visible untrimmed stems and full leaves, some with brown or yellow tips. Even if these deficiencies weren't evident even through the glass jar with the eye alone, you can smell it in more than a few of the strains. When purchased, leaf shake and stems with nearly no flower at all will be added to the scale to achieve the desired weight. (You can hear the stems click loudly as they're dropped onto the scale. The product has to be transferred to the packaging by upending the Tupperware container on the scale and dumping it in. This is because the tongs are useless on a lot of the material.) I don't think this is in any way an effort to cheat the customer, but it is most likely simply impossible to make the desired weight when the product is what it is without adding the undesired plant material. If you're in the market for top of the line high quality product that is finely trimmed, densely packed, dried and cured properly then your selection may be limited at Herbal Choices to just a few available strains or less. I'd advise anyone to go in and shop this dispensary, but I wouldn't be surprised if afterwards, like me, they felt like they could have gotten more bang for the buck somewhere else.
