After all the positive reviews of this shop, I was really looking forward to checking it out, which I did today. I'm never going back. The tender who waited on me wasn't friendly or welcoming in the least. In fact, he was sullen and seemed bored. I bought two strains, and then found out one was harvested in October of last year. Admittedly, I should have asked before I purchased it. Given the rather intense competition in this industry, Jayne may want to rethink its employee hiring or training.

Excellent bud, knowledgeable budtenders and the best prices for quality herb in Portland.

MindRite

Highly recommend --well-curated selection of quality flower, and budtenders who are focused, knowledgeable and efficient yet friendly. Oh, and fresh product, too. Mind-Rite and Vessel are NW Portland's BEST cannabis location. Don't waste your money and time anywhere else.

Local Herb Collective

LHC attracted me because I was looking for two particular strains and their Leafly menu showed they carried both (and at good prices). One strain was out when I got there, which happens. The shop is easy to spot and on a major street, and ID checking is quick. The sales room is narrow and too dark. It was hard to see the samples clearly. Unfortunately, the budtender I shopped with didn't know very much about the strains. In fact, he misinformed me -- he said one strain I bough would send me into couch lock, when it's actually know for being relaxing to the body but energetic mentally and socially. Like the woman on the front door, he was nice and everything, but he didn't know his products. The quality of the flower was good, the prices (for my strains, anyway) were decent, the location is easy to find, and I likely will be back -- but I won't rely on much besides the knowledge I bring with me.

Agent Orange

My first thought: Wow. This. Is. Fab.U.Lous. A great, largely sativa high that is refreshing and uplifting, with none of that driven, over-stimmed feeling some sativas and related hybrids (Green Crack, Durban Poison, and even Cinex) have. It lifted my anxiety and low-level anhedonia and depression almost immediately (I smoked half a joint). Life really feels easy and OK. There’s a good inquisitiveness, but no perserverating or dropping into the rabbit hole of going meta. Look for a bit of body softening in the face (especially the jaw and neck, oddly) and the torso. I also noticed some tiredness coming on in the second hour. This might be good for wake-n-bakers, though the drop off in the uplift would be something to know. One last thought: who comes up with these strain names? Anyone with a bit of history would have so not named a strain after such a horrifying and destructive tool of war.

Serra Downtown

I’m not sure if he’s dropped by, by minimalist sculptor Richard Serra would fall in love with this namesake dispensary on SW First Avenue (close to Burnside). Serra sets lush—that massive cascade of living greenery on the left wall—on a stark palette of endless white walls and ceilings touched with black, and sleek, light wood. In a word, gorgeous. Attractive and low-slung glass cases display nugs and their particulars. Easy to see, and the mention of a strain brings a near-instant offer of a perfectly sized sample jar for closer inspection. The staff is friendly and thoughtful; I enjoyed my informative conversation with my budtender, tried a new strain (Agent Orange, which is the bomb-diggity) and will deffo return. As for the product? I *like*! I came for their Cinex (via Yerba Buena) but am so very pleased with the Agent Orange – moist, fresh tasting and a very rich high. Anyway, do check it out. My only regret? I wish it was a coffee shop or an art gallery. It would be fab in either role. But go! I bet you’ll love it.

Purple Nurf is a sleeper strain producing a fine feeling of well-being and confidence and focus. Nice high, too –tho many will pass it by because it clocks in at just under 18% THC. Why mess with that (for a non-medicinal need) when Durban Poison will deliver nearly twice that? Like me, they probably don’t know about THC-A. The PurpNurf has a THC-A level of 17%, too. We now know that THC-A, in the presence of high-ish heat (according to Google, at least above 350C ), converts into the psychoactive THC. After that, you’re looking at 34% of THC with this strain. There’s little body high in this sativa strain (purchased from Silver Stem on NE 40th, one of the few places in the city carrying it). But back to the high. By itself, PurpNurf is perfect for anything requiring clarity and focus that you want do in a relaxed, pleasant, manner with consistent cerebral engagement. It really helps me be emotionally present but not stuck in my head. And I generally feel at ease with what I’m doing and myself. Compared to, say, Green Crack, I feel nicer on PurpNurf, though not as driven, bloodless or strategic. Oh, and then there’s the increased tactile, taste and texture sensitivity and easy sensual (not necessarily sexual) stimulation, too. The Nurf is perfect for waking and baking and use through the day, for getting chores done on a relaxed Saturday, or at dinner with friends who enjoy thoughtful or clever conversation. I really enjoyed it for these purposes. The high lasts 3-4 hours, though hitting on this exclusively over several days brought a curious heaviness around my neck. PurpNurf plays very well with others. I smoked it alone, and in combination with Cinex, Durban Poison and Green Crack, all what I call cranial smokes. What I found (all vaped 50/50): With Cinex: This was the bomb! A bowl delivered a great feeling of relaxed yet full confidence and ease; long-term planning and long-term memory both strong. I felt enjoyable engagement and productivity with this combo, perfect high for a wake n baker and throughout the day. With Green Crack: I thought this would be great. It wasn’t. A 50/50 vape bowl of this softened the drive of the Green Crack, not much else. With Durban Poison: This combo is better with a higher proportion of PurpNurf. That lightens the intensity and occasional tendency for Poison to take you down the rabbit hole of meta. Poison is such a strong strain that it overwhelmed most of the other characteristics of the PurpNurf. I deffo encourage you to check this out; a strong high with relaxed self-awareness and confidence.

Home Grown Apothecary

I cannot recommend highly enough. Today's visit, my 3rd, really changed my assessment of this apothecary. PROS: Excellent flower--superior, in fact, to many shops (wait until your get your hands on *their* Strawberry Cough, Durban Poison, and Aphrodite. Smooth vaping, high quality highs does what it sez on the tin, and organic too. Tiust me: the quality is a cut above. You *will* be able to tell the difference Great prices, too (and they post recreational prices with taxes, so no surprises).Order online and it will be ready when you get there. Wonderful customer service and extremely knowledgeable budtender. Another big plus. In fact, I'm so glad he'd run out of what I ordered because it gave me a chance to hear his informed suggestions. I wanted Jack Herer, as I'd heard it was good for depression and anxiety while being great for focus. He called and told me it was sold out -- then gave me even better suggestions (Aphrodite and Flashback) qnd their lineage. He even compared them to other strains I'd consumed, explaining how they differed. I got a couple of grams of both, and am glad I did. Like Ahnold said, "I'll be back." :-)

Durban Poison

The first batch of this was fabulous --massive and quick up in mood, good high, relaxed confidence. This second round has no uplift and the high almost feels industrial. Certainly a functional one but with no sophistication or depth. A disappointment. So - word to wise: buy a small portion, if you like it, go back and buy larger quantities.

Tree House Collective - Sandy

Genuinely welcoming environment with quality product. Once you step through the door you forget you’re on Sandy Blvd. Suddenly you’re in a softly bright and open room – and I would swear I was inside a mushroom if I didn’t know better – and the vibe is efficient in a relaxed and non-rushed way. The staff was kind, relaxed and all-around nice. The budtender was knowledgeable, as well--we had a good conversation about sativas and she told me about several I’ve not yet tried. I purchased some Durban Poison (the grower was Eastwood, the batch from July), which I like: resiny-when-pressed nugs and orange-red tendrils. A very excellent and productive high, and great for ramping down anxiety. My mood hasn’t lifted very much, something I have experienced with other Durban Poison. As well, THC works with lots of Oregon growers, and supporting local and regional business is important to me. So –recommended, a good shopping experience.
