Headband

2/1/2013
I suffer from severe chronic pain from combination of degenerative cervical disc disease and also have a number of bone spurs in several locations on my spine and am prescribed opioids for nearly 4 years with varying pain levels of between 5 and 8 on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being pain free and 10 needing immediate surgery. Initially I was prescribed 6 oxycodone pain pills a day which helped with the pain but also had me "sleeping" when I should have been working, quite a bit in fact and also causing severe constipation, something I had never experienced except maybe a couple time in my 50+ year life up until that point and it became nightmarish in the mornings trying to evacuate while suffering in pain waiting to take the first pill of the day. Since introducing cannabis to help the opioids for pain and inflammation relief approx 18 months ago, I have been successful in reducing my opioid intake by more than 75% and along with that the comparable intake of laxatives which together will eventually create major internal problems if not curtailed. Hence my near fanatasistic search for a cannabis strain or products that will help me attain my goal which is to further reduce the opioid intake even more, to a point where I only take narcotic pain meds periodically rather than every day or at least reduce it another 20% or more. This brings me to the strain headband which I've also attemted to include an image of the product on hand ( it would be good if we could upload more than 1 image). While purchasing some purple buds down south I had asked my friends connection if there was something he thought I should look for specifically to help me with reducing my pain meds and he answered "Headband". Ok well I finally got some headband from elemental wellness in san jose and while it hasn't been rated a 10, I do rate it a solid 7 as it doesn't destroy me from a high standpoint but it does provide some pain relief and on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the holy grail, I rate it a 6+ maybe 7. I am very conservative when it comes to grading cannabis so others may grade this higher. The bud you see here gives off a lovely "west coast" type flavor or taste which is clean and herbal. Quite nice. As you can see in the images there's considerable trichromes and the buds are fairly tight yielding slightly more product than expected when put in a grinder. I use a 2.25 inch smart crusher and I'm implementing the headband a variety of ways. For the most part I partake while I work in an office environment so I utilize a dry pipe or standard pipe. I also utilize a Volcano vaporizor and the headband will leave you quite open minded after doing a bag on the volcano. It will oil up your screen if you use one so have plenty of them pre-formed so all you have to do is pop the old one out and the new one in so you can continue enjoying Headband from Elemental Wellness where it's advertised an Sativa/Indica at 22.63% THC Please note that my pain condition is severe. A slight fender bender will put me in intensive care. A surgeon with integrity told me that surgery is not my best option because once we start I am almost guaranteed a 2nd, 3rd and maybe a lifetime of surgeries which could debiliate me further. So again I must strees my near ultra tight grading of the qualities of cannabis. If you are in chronic pain and in need of Vicodin for example this strain from Elemental should help you fine and maybe be a little overpowering during the day so use it sparingly at 1st until you have a better idea of what's best for you. I have a few dozen strains to catch up with reviews from a middle aged chronic pain , heart and vascular patient. I have a website with multiple images and will see if it's ok for me to post a link to my information website which I think would enhance Leafly not compete with it. This is my first review please bear with me while I catch up and ask the mods or owners of Leafly if I can do that or if there's some way to add more images.
