I can allay the concerns expressed in TrueBlueMacgoo's review: The budtender handled my order with tongs and, when trimming a stem (thanks!), with gloves. My Blueberry eighth seemed very fresh, and the two women who helped me were quite nice. The inside of the shop was a bit plain, but overall I had a positive experience in my first visit. I also like that they specify the growers for each strain on their Leafly menu.

When I was in my 20s I strove to smoke my brains out with the strongest weed then available. Some four decades on I find I want something that gives me a mellow buzz and some relief from my aches and pains, plus providing a better chance at a good night's sleep. Grape Ape, with its balance of THC and CBD and typical indica effects, works quite nicely. It also has a nice flavor when vaporized.

A pleasant space and welcoming atmosphere. In my first foray into the legal-weed scene (in the U.S.), Brian the budtender was helpful and patient with my many questions and made some good recommendations. (Blue Hawaiian has become a favorite.) I went again for salve, which Oregon does not yet allow me to buy as a recreational customer. The recommendation was Flying Dutchman Icy Pot, and I've found it helpful on my arthritic fingers. Thanks, HEMP, for the good experiences.

An update on my previous review (since Leafly doesn't seem to let me revise a review): Maybe I just didn't notice the whole range of recreational choices on my first visit, but on subsequent visits I found a very good selection of recreational strains. On the budtender's recommendation I tried Grape Ape for its balance of CBD and THC, and it has become a new favorite.

I went for a high-CBD strain of leaf, and the staff was very helpful. The gram of Shark Shock I bought was quite fresh. The wait was reasonable--no different from other dispensaries that sell to recreational customers. Recreational prices were about what I've seen other places. On a second visit they were out of Shark Shock, but I got another good high-CBD strain, Harlequin OG, in a preroll. Again, the staff was helpful and friendly. The ambience is a bit industrial, but the service and quality are excellent.
