CBD Critical Mass

1/3/2016
CBD Critical Mass is a lifesaver. An 80% Indica dominant Hybrid with a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio, it helps me greatly with my anxiety disorder. As a plant, it grows a short to medium height with leaves similar to a sativa, even when vegged for over 6 weeks, but has dense, Indica like buds with hella trichomes. It's hard to notice the effect of the THC due to the balanced ratio of CBD, but this strain is perfect for relaxing and does get you slightly high. Alleviates my pain completely whilst letting me get on with my day, I love both vaporizing and smoking it, and in a bong you really notice the Indica effects, whilst still maintaining an almost sober yet lazy mental clarity. An absolute must if you want the medical benefits of cannabis but are not overly keen on the psychoactive effects usually found in strains with a higher THC. The smell is probably one of my favourites ever. It isn't as pungent as a Cheese or Diesel, but has a sweet, honey like taste with a hint of grapefruit. The taste is incredible in my Volcano and Pax. I was very sceptical about CBD at first, but once I tried it I was pretty much convinced. This is a strain I could keep in my medical jars for the rest of my life.

Headband

1/1/2016
Headband is a strange one. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the strong effect and some nice dense bud structure, so it's not a terrible strain. I had the 818 version from Cali Connection. Overall, for me, it's not a strain I would keep on the shelf for the fact that it highly increases my sensitivity without really offering me any pain relief. It starts off with a head buzz which then merges into a very strange indica feel. Usually when I smoke a decent indica, my pain goes away and I feel very relaxed. The difference with 818 Headband is that the Indica makes me feel more like I'm not in my body, and gives me more of a numbness than being relaxing. Due to the probably Sativa dominant phenotype I'm smoking, I also find that it doesn't necessarily make me tired as much as it makes me lazy (but mentally alert). This is GREAT for video games, but not so great for those who suffer with pain, anxiety or panic disorders. I think I'm going to lean more towards the Indica dominant CBD strains from now on, as it is just way more enjoyable for me to smoke. If you dig that "outer body experience" feeling and playing video games when high, this is definitely worth a try. If you suffer with anxiety or are prone to overthinking, it's not a strain I would recommend.
