RISE Dispensaries Bethesda (Med)
12/7/2022
Over the years, Rise Bethesda has had some quality control issues which seemed to be improving.
It's probably time to shop at another dispensary again, though. The last few purchases of flower have been disappointing at best.
The flower has been dry as a bone - literally crumbling just from touch - and based on the expiration dates, the flower was close to - or in excess of - six months old.
Sorry, Rise...you're all nice folks, but I'm not going to continue paying for sawdust.

Peake Releaf has never been my go-to dispensary, but I shop here once in a while if they have something I want that other dispensaries don't.
More often than not (if not always), flower is sold in their house packaging. Perhaps it's just the packaging, but the flower is consistently dry, regardless of the expiration date.
My most recent flower purchase contained a ton of sugar leaves, which leads me to believe that whoever trimmed was either sloppy or playing tricks with weight.
There's a ton of turnover here, and rarely do the budtenders seem engaged or even remotely happy to be there. Not exclusively, but enough to feel like more of a burden than anything. With high turnover, it's tough to establish a rapport with the budtenders.
Peake Releaf, pay attention! The last one is important. Your customers are your patients, and like with any other healthcare setting, the value bedside manner and rapport cannot be overstated.
All of these have been issues before, hence my infrequent visits, but chances that I'll be back again are slim.

This has become my go-to spot. It seems that on any given day, they have a bit more flower in stock than any other dispensary in the area - with decent pricing ($45 - $55 for 1/8th) The facility is bright. The folks are friendly (though I generally order online, so my interactions are limited to small tall and whatever is necessary to conduct a transaction).

Mission isn’t in my neighborhood, but I was in a pinch and popped in to grab a bottle of tincture. When they told me the price, my jaw dropped. $80 for the same product that is sold just down the road for $35. I asked why they’re charging more than double than other dispensaries, and was told that “maybe they get a good deal from the grower!”
I’ve now checked every other dispensary for pricing on the same product, and sure enough, they all charge $35.
This was both my first and last visit to Mission...I understand a slight discrepancy in price from one dispensary to another, but more than double the price is absolutely absurd.

These folks are great. They're welcoming, the facility was bright and clean, and the employees I interacted with were clearly knowledgeable.
The flower selection was substantial, and both 1/8ths I bought were relatively fresh. They might be a tad on the pricey side, but I think that overall, they edge out many of the other dispensaries in the area.

There’s been a TON of turnover at this place, and it seems that the service has suffered as a result. Incredibly long wait times are now the norm.
Perhaps the most disappointing piece is the lack of knowledge as the staff seem to simply make a series of guesses about their products, rather than speak based on experience or true product knowledge. Equally disappointing is that with increasing frequency, the flower just isn’t fresh. Often, it’s clearly old and will crumble just from looking at it.
