OMG

8/24/2024
The buds were mushy but disintegrated easily into sticky powder between my fingers. The odor of rubber and skunk permeates whatever space it's handled within, and the effect on the user begins during prep. After a smoke it doesn't take much or long for the effect to arrive. I can't just sit and smoke this one, though - it's got a bite that gives me a headache, and I know it's not the grower. It actually reminds me of Sherb. OMG also has a rich depth that sits for a while and leaves me feeling spacey, which is perfect for bedtime.

MAC

10/11/2023
The local bud I just picked up did not look as nice as the flower I used to get from Grassroots over in Illinois, but it smoked just the same. MAC buds sometimes come wrapped in purple leaves, but all are dense and sticky, green and orange inside. The effect isn't as deep or relaxing as L Gelato, and it doesn't have the big beautiful head-effect of Jupiter, nor is it as strong as either of those, but MAC is still very comparable and easier to find. It's easily one of my favorite strains, even if I've never seen it higher than 26%. The miracle here is that it IS so strong, although it doesn't seem like it at first. It settles in deep and lasts for a while. I like to vary the strains I smoke so I don't get tired of them, but MAC already has a nuanced effect on the mind that lends its own variety. It's a new experience wrapped up inside of an old one at least half the time . . . that's what makes it so out of this world. Least of all, the buds are so tasty you could actually eat them instead of smoking them.

OGKB

10/8/2023
To be perfectly honest, I always feel as if I've gotten ripped off whenever I buy OG Kush Breath - the buds are usually so dense and tiny that an eighth of this flower looks like a quarter of most others. It rolls or mushes apart like hashish. Maybe it's where I'm buying it. OGKB does start to give me a headache but it never follows through on that - I just get sleepy instead. Why do I keep buying this stuff and calling it one of my favorites? The effect is really deep and rides the express train to you. I feel no pain whatsoever when I smoke it, and it's easy to find at higher concentrations. I'm so relaxed right now after hitting it that I might not add anything else to this review.

Green Line OG

10/8/2023
Apparently the King of California moved to Chicago. "The thin green line between reg and kine" - Green Line has the sweetest effect, the cushiest head glow of any original grower strain I've ever sampled. It's loud but mellow, so good it's gone, I will tell you that Jupiter is my favorite strain of all time but that's only because Green Line is so hard to get. I don't like to write reviews for strains I don't have on hand to sniff around on, since I miss many of the flavor dimensions when I break up my buds to smoke. So far, Pep-o-chem is the only one I've done that to on Leafly - I would like to get more to re-review it. But I will never forget the effect of a strain, or how quickly it settles in. Green Line is more like gold than green - the 22-24% concentration is nice and strong but still very palpable for almost anyone. Creamy sunshine supreme glinting off a solid daydream, it's excellent anytime of the day or night. My goofy uncle and I were able to finish installing a new toilet seat for my grandma after a few hits of it no sweat, and he smokes like Katt Williams. It continues to get stronger every day! At 29-30% it blossoms open quickly into a deep ring of shimmering flames that will fill your head with dense, sugary cosmic rays you can't miss for at least half an hour - it will make you see the world in a whole new light. I hadn't checked the lineage on it until just now, but I knew Lime was DAF - the "Line" is even danker. It's been well over a year since I've found any, though.

Lavender Gelato

9/28/2023
Larry Bird's Magic Cave Water Funk but with a sweet twist . . . that's Lavender Gelato. It pours on quick and settles in deep like the rain does on a sunny afternoon. Great for any free time, it doesn't put me to sleep but it sure helps me get there. I smoke primarily for back pain and prefer high THC concentrated hybrid flower, yet this one is great for just relaxing. The effect is gently prominent. Always pretty strong, it'll last at least half an hour for anyone, all day for most I'm sure. Gelato itself is a standard for me, and the Lavender variant really is tasty. Grassy, fruity, juicy, goodness . . . I had to bust out the jar again to smell. It's loud, not enough to wake the whole neighborhood though, and I usually find it 27-30% - so don't be stupid. Yeah. I still love Rythm, but I love it even more that other people are growing this - hope they all keep it coming.

Sherbet Cake

9/18/2023
I picked up an eighth of this at the local dispensary - even though I saw MAC and OG Kush Breath, two of my favorite strains, on their menu - because I wanted something with more of a kick. haha Yeah and Sherb Cake did that trick, though it does give me a slight headache on its own. I do forget to eat sometimes. The buds are sticky but easy to peel apart. I debated on the chemical smell I get in the profile - I don't smell the berries. The effect is a nice and deep head fog sunk down into a tingling body high that rushed in quick at the last minute. Sherb Cake is good for chillaxin or movie night, better as a bed-fellow. It reminds me of good street bud from a long time ago - the kind you only knew as "KB".

Runtz Cake

9/11/2023
I'd not smoked for two weeks prior to trying this. At 26% it was the lightest strain I bought, considering THC concentration (haha). I have to mention the buds - beautiful, glistening white and dark green with long orange pistils mashed against the lot. They looked and smelled like pieces of candy in the jar, no joke. The full effect takes a minute to build up, but it's nice and bright from the beginning. Then it hammers down into a deep field from head to toe. It's a soft and cozy bubble but not a subtle one. Still, I had no problem driving out to the lake five minutes after smoking it for the first time. I will definitely pick more up if I see it, Runtz Cake is as sweet as you might expect and perfect for an afternoon or overnight.

NF1

9/1/2023
I compared this with Jupiter but the overall effect of NF1 reminds me more of Megatron. This is an instant trip to the moon - intense and building quickly, the body effect is a relaxing hot breeze that turns into thick waves of ice, burning up through your core inside and into a palace of flames in your mind somewhere high in the sky. Unlike Megatron, NF1 is packing a cold heat. Breaking up the buds releases a minty frost - pretty soon you'll be frozen. You speak Finnish, ja? How about Tibetan? This bud will seriously do that. It'll sit you down for a minute, doesn't need to be used by a neophyte, and even veteran smokers can't avoid its effect in a hurry. It's really nice. Personally, of the two I compared it with NF1 is about as good as both.

Jupiter OG

8/15/2023
The lineage of this flower isn't too obvious. Jupiter Kush might be the same as Jupiter OG, but the jars I buy from Rythm say it's a cross of Chemdawg#4 and Goliath. I often find it around 28% + THC. It has a massive, deep-field head effect you can't ignore for at least an hour - even at 18% it hits hard and will stick around for a minute or two. It's strong as hell and requires experience to enjoy otherwise it might leave you stranded in space, but the ocean glow is out of this world here. It's that ribbon of light you see around the door from outside the room, standing in a dark hallway . . . yeah, but somewhere out beyond the asteroid belt. Medically it works wonders on my back and shoulder pain, and it relieves a lot of stress and tension. I'll be honest, you won't be coming back down to Earth for a while after a bowl of this, and you might end up crashing out afterward. I do get the sleepy/ paranoid problem some rec smokers have with it, but over the past two years Jupiter has actually become my favorite strain of all time, and that's coming from a guy who remembers smoking contender Granddaddy Purple from out of a hookah somewhere in St. Louis back in'08. Now I'm remembering that mundane afternoon I felt like I was apart of the sunlight glistening off the leaves overhead at a park ON JUPITER, that I was floating in a bright bubble of sunshine flames churning along with the breeze for miles all around me. Nah, I don't think I need to change my mind for a minute here.

Pep-o-Chem

8/15/2023
I've consumed almost an ounce of Pep-o-Chem and have never seen it lower than 26% THC. It must have California genetics but the head effect is too blunt to really notice. I prefer Indica-dominant for back pain but Pep-o-Chem works for daytime balance. The high is express, intense but comfortable. It's full effect is a stamped-in deep field of sunshine that will go on for a whole day. It tastes peppery to me, has a hot aftertaste - the smoke is nice and chemically.
