Homegrown Apothecary is a really nice shop on NE 21st and Pacific. A very unassuming building painted with vines and flowers on it, one would think this were an herbs/garden store. But inside is a very warm place. Not white or kitschy at all, it is a older building and its image is better for it. Lobby has lemon/cucumber water to sip on while they check you in. After the space was open, we were led to one of 2 budtending rooms. Richard was a lovely budtender. The sommelier of smoke. I just went for a (self-named) smile time variety joint pack, and went through ranges of unicorns/no-unicorns, and high energy to couch status.. I was also taught something new when looking at cured flowers. Being able to be taken into a back room was really nice so I could feel good asking questions and not feel pressured by other patrons. A very welcoming experience. I'm really happy with the way these guys handled themselves and how their business works. Organic, sustainable, no rec markup, small and very welcoming, chill, honest, and lowkey since it is ever so slightly offset from the beaten path.
