Emjay Cannabis Delivery (Central)
3/15/2021
VERY UNHAPPY with this company! DO NOT USE THEM - there are plenty of other honest cannabis delivery shops where you won't get scammed and ripped off. Details below...
I placed my first order last night. The grand total in the email receipt was $183, including all the taxes and fees they add on.
A few hours later, I got a notification that they had sold me one product that was out of stock. (Why? Don't they have some kind of inventory system?) Being a nice guy, I told them it's fine to remove it from my order. They did not bother to send me an updated receipt, nor offer me anything for the inconvenience, so I did the math and the total price after removing the one unavailable item was about $160.
The delivery person showed up and demanded $198 for the order. He then complained about getting such a small tip.
I thought that maybe I had made a mistake, so I paid him $200, which is all the cash I had.
It turns out the delivery driver blatantly lied to me to pocket an extra $40. The total was in fact $160, and he scammed me into giving him a gigantic tip.
I reported this to Emjay, but they really didn't seem to care. Essentially they chose to take the driver's side over me.
Seriously?!? I have ZERO reason to lie about this. NONE AT ALL!
I was planning on giving the delivery guy a $20 tip, which is not bad for driving twelve blocks to deliver a small parcel that weights a few ounces. A pizza delivery guy has a much harder job, and they'd be totally stoked to get a $20 tip for delivering a pizza.
I don't know if they are in league with the drivers as part of some scam to rip off their customers, or if they genuinely do not give a crap about anything but doing as little work as possible to get through the day.
It's too bad, because while their prices are high, the selection and quality are pretty good (with the understanding that they don't update their inventory and you might buy stuff that is out of stock.)
It seems really short sighted and stupid to scam a customer out of $40 when they could have had a FAR LARGER revenue stream by treating me fairly and keeping me as a repeat customer.
