Cannabliss & Co. Recreational Weed Dispensary 22nd & Burn

10/30/2018
2 visits ago, they charged me an ATM fee without telling me about it. Today I ask for "$60 worth of Jager." I don't know what the price is. They give me 9.1 grams. I get home and look at their web site and see it's $75 per ounce (24 grams). You cannot trust these employees to have your best interests in mind. Their Leafly menu doesn't even match their own web site's menu (it's called something like Baker Burn.)

Thin Mint

I bought a quarter ounce of Thin Mint Cookies at Grohi Station about a month ago. I've smoked from it three times so far and it has no effect on me. During 40 years of smoking weed I've never had anything this weak. This has to be a different strain than these reviews from over a year ago boasting of its potency. If anyone has bought or smoked Thin Mint Cookies recently, please post a review. I'm letting mine age some more, the THC breaks down into CBD over time which may improve its effects for me, as I prefer CBD heavy Indicas over THC heavy Sativas.

This was my third visit to Grohi. They sold me a quarter ounce of "Thin Mint" weed which smelled like lawnmower clippings and was about as potent.

Why are the "non medical" prices 65% to 100% higher than the medical prices? The tax is only 25%. Some recreational users are not even "recreational" users. I smoke to lower my blood pressure and help me sleep. This huge price discrepancy doesn't make sense.

CannaDaddy's

Why are they charging non-cardholders $50 for an eight ounce cardholders pay $30 for? The non-medical tax is 25 percent. It should be $37.50 not $50. There are also "recreational" users like myself who smoke to treat insomnia and high blood pressure, which are medical uses, but not recognized by Oregon law. CanaDaddy's obviously doesn't want my business.

Northern Lights #5

I smoked some "Northern Lights - Five Star General" I bought at One Draw Two probably six months ago. My blood pressure went down from 160/110 to 128/82 within a half hour. Dosage was perhaps 1/20th of a gram. I was skeptical of all the reports on the Internet about marijuana lowering blood pressure because the legitimate medical web sites are not emphasizing it. So I bought my own blood pressure monitor and am experimenting with it. I am not and have never been on any blood pressure medication. Along with the reduction in BP, however, your heart rate will go up 10 to 20 beats per minute for about an hour. The blood pressure monitor showed both the increase in heart rate and reduction in BP as expected. If you don't smoke weed every day, however, it's been reported that your blood pressure will INCREASE for the first hour after smoking before it goes down. It only goes straight down if you're a daily smoker like I am. Smoking indica to help me sleep is perhaps the reason I'm still alive. I didn't know my blood pressure was so high, and also did not know I was lowering it every night by smoking weed. It's 12 hours later now and I'm up to 157/104 so I'll take another hit. Heart rate is back down to 73. Millions of people are taking blood pressure medications they don't need, they could switch to smoking Indica and indica dominant hybrids to reduce blood pressure. The pharmaceutical industry will certainly try to repress and dispute this information since it would mean they lose billions of dollars. Buy a blood pressure monitor and see for yourself.

I went in to check out their Jager, which I had bought at a place on SE Division twice before. Their Jager looked and smelled completely different from what I expected. Dude said this was normal, but I've bought Blueberry from three different places (not here) and it was the same each time. The online review of Animal Cookies said it was good for insomnia so I bought a quarter ounce of that, plus the price was low, $30. However, I think $30 is a lot for a quarter ounce of dried herb. So it's less than half of the illegal street pricing before legalization, I still expect a moderate level of quality. No, this Animal Cookies is full of stems, is almost odorless and is weak. It should be $10 per quarter ounce. In my opinion, all weed in a dispensary should be quality weed. I thought pricing was based on availability but apparently it is based on quality. We're still in a very early phase of retail marijuana, I expect prices will moderate and quality will increase over time.

Vessel

Vessel is located in a quiet, out of the way pocket in between the busy NW Portland retail district and the industrial area. As with most marijuana stores you don't just walk in, you ring a doorbell and go through a small secure area where you show your ID. Which they do not copy. I always ask first if they're going to make a copy of my ID. If they copy ID then I don't shop there. $36 for a quarter of Blueberry is a great price and it was high quality weed as expected. I tipped $4 since I wasn't paying $100 for an eighth ounce which was all fluffed up to look like a quarter ounce from some dealer at Waterfront Park. Legalization has put those scammers out of business.

Local Herb Collective

This was my second visit here, I wanted a quarter of G13 which they were out of. The guy suggested Jaeger so I got a quarter of that instead, which is very good. They only looked at my ID, there was no writing or photocopying going on. One place I went recently photocopied my ID which is out of line. I never smoke weed to get high, I only smoke to help me sleep, so it ticks me off when places discriminate against non-cardholders and call us "recreational users", which this place does not do. All of their customers are equal.

They make a photocopy of your ID or driver's license here without asking first or telling you they're going to make a copy. They have no valid reason to keep your name and address on file. I don't recommend going here.
