Sol Flower - Scottsdale Airpark (MED/REC)

2/5/2023
great flower deals often, and for good herb toο; not just the unpalatable duff that most places in town offer for cheap. I've been everywhere in the valley and probably most outside the valley, but the only places I stick to are Sol and my own garden. Can y'all add 85254 to your delivery area? I'm literally just an eleven minute drive from the airport location but too often I'm so exhausted by the end of the day that I don't care what it costs to save myself a trip. I tip really well!

So glad HWC opened a location near me, now my go-to spot when the way too limited number or varieties I can grow myself just isn't cutting it. there are almost always a couple killer flower varieties on deck, LA/bay upper/top shelf quality for like 2/3 the price of most places around here. According to my receipt, a "Vanessa T" served me this evening, and I just asked that she grab the two eighths she'd grab if she were in my shoes. Both bangers, A+ perfect selections. Thank you! "Vanessa T" is also immaculately gorgeous though, so, I can't rule out ANY bias...

Harvest HOC - Scottsdale (Med)

I can't believe I really just spent over 70 bucks on an 1/8th, this shit better knock me out until Monday. Staff is great though, really classy place, one of the best laid out dispensaries in town; Bay area type vibe. Bay area type prices too though, damn, and no mention of the supposed third time med discount (first time I'd been to this location but third trip to Harvest in general). Thank Ra home-growing is legal again & I can grow around two zips of ultra mega kill for about the same price, just a few more weeks... caveat: 23yr professional indo' grower & consultant, Germany to Hawaii & damn near everywhere in between, plus growing tippy top tier is damn near impossible at true commercial scale.

Nature's Medicines - Happy Valley (Med/Rec)

Larfy herb that all smells the same but it's cheap and tastes good. Alright if you're gonna roll it all up in swishers & backwoods anyway. Nature's on grand or whatever had mad fire a year or two ago so hopefully they'll get back to that.. at least add a another tier or two up. If I weren't about to harvest some jungle boys cuts & some killer gals from two varieties and an f2 that I bred myself a decade ago (thank whatever for gibberelic acid!), I'd probably come back here at some point. Everywhere else has tons of "probably Mendo's lower grade outdo'" trash right now anyway, at least this place isn't charging $65&tax per trichome.

Pretty dope joint, lots of killer herb if a bit expensive, but lots of good specials. I think my budtender's name was Spencer but I was tired as hell so there's certainly a solid chance that isn't even close, but anyway Spencer/* helped me pick out some bomb trees and two different top shelf quarters for just under a bill kinda made my day. Also it's my birthday so killer herb to end a too-f'n-long day was necessary. I think I was supposed to get a birthday pre-roll but got a pretty darn nice thick glass onie/"glass blunt without the screw" thing and a bic lighter, I'll take that over a pre-roll that'd probably end up in the bin in a month barring an herb emergency anyway, any day. So much good tree I think I might come back tomorrow during happy hour or whatever and score some of the top shelf strains that I didn't grab tonight. One rather minor complaint, I didn't see any tip jars anywhere. I know some dispensaries think it's classier to omit the cash jars that make people feel obligated to tip and that might usually make sense for a relatively upscale Carefree joint, but these aren't normal times and those of us that can afford to tip should be tipping pretty damn near everyone that's working in live customer service right now. I felt a bit uncomfortable not seeing tip jars. Spencer or *, if you see and remember me again tomorrow or whenever, if you're allowed to let me kick you a jackson or whatever then please remind me, eh?

Not ultra-mega-uber-fire or anything but good herb for the ticket. great FTP deal too. Generally not a fan of prepackaged but it probably makes the most sense right now and all this stuff isn't dried out or anything, it was all well sealed. Possibly n2/inert sealed. All packed a week or two ago & if anything the one packed a week ago is a bit too fresh. Budtender was great, helped make the right decision for me and got me outta there mad quick. Can't remember if I got a name or not but according to the receipt it was an Eduardo R. This joint seems to be doing a particularly good job of maintaining social distancing and minimizing transmission risks. Better than average among valley dispensaries currently.

Cookies - Tempe

First time visiting the Tempe location. Snazzy looking joint but I like the deli style flower layout much better at the 35th ave location, it's really difficult to decide what I want to look at when it's like a mile away. Also my vision sucks, exacerbated tonight by being seriously tired. Fortunately my budtender this evening was legit af and was able to help me make the right decisions, also didn't rush me at all even though it was minutes to 8pm and I was probably her last customer. Very cool, very friendly. I can't recall whether or not I even got her name but the receipt says "Baleigh P." If Baleigh P is a young black girl that's like mesmerisinly gorgeous, then that's probably her. She's a badass, excellent taste in flower and no bullshit. I picked up an eighth of deli-style "orange ape" that looks and smells nice, and an eighth of Nectar Farms "Slurricane" that's very very good, really tasty and potent. Unfortunately Nectar Farms apparently doesn't know how to screw a lid on a jar 'cause it looked like they just set the lid on there and slapped a sticker on it, shit's bone dry; but it's all going in blunts anyway, it's f'n beautiful and delicious, and it weighs 3.7 as advertised, so idc much. Baleigh (if the name on the receipt is right) pretty much picked both out for me & I'm damn glad she did, nothing else looked very appealing to me. Not to say the rest was schwag or anything, there was plenty of good herb, just not much else that I'd have been very happy with. Location, 4.5 out of 5. Clean and decent aesthetic, In and out real quick, got what I wanted, great service. Quality, 3.3 out of 5. that's a noteworthy achievement, I'm a 20+ year commercial scale indoor grower & consultant; I've worked damn near e'rywhere from San Diego to Holland. I grow fire beyond comparison, almost nothing is a 5/5 unless I grew it, but even my own work I'd only call 5/5 maybe 5-10% of the time. budtender: 10 out of 5, girl really knows her herb and at no point did she try to tell me anything was good unless it really was good. Plus extra points because to say she's just a "dime" would be an egregious insult, that woman is a 400 troy ounce gold bar. Normally I'd consider such commentary in a review entirely inappropriate, and it is, but for real... goddamn.

Nirvana Center - Phoenix

I shop here and the Glendale location often, great deals on flower. Tuesday night I stopped in for a couple eighths, Royal Jack and Tri-Fi OG. Got home and opened the royal jack first, it barely fit in the jar. weighed about a point over what it said on the jar.. The Tri-Fi, however, I could tell was short the moment I opened it (which is why I got out and calibrated several scales to check), and I determined it to weigh 2.633g with multiple freshly calibrated scales. I'm sure I'll still be back, but nearly a gram short is rather annoying. Not sure how a mistake like that happens with state-calibrated commercial scales, they were rather busy and having to help each other out so perhaps the budtender got distracted while weighing this jar. Oh well, to my knowledge this hasn't happened to me before.

JARS Cannabis - Metro Center (Med/Rec)

The place is alright, they've had decent products on previous visits. This time I have no product to assess because I left empty handed. Like too many other valley dispensaries, the timing and accuracy of their text or email blasts, sucks. Nothing like receiving a message about a deal, hauling ass across town on Christmas day, only to find that the special that had prompted your patronage ended when supplies ran out the day before you were even notified about the sale. I'll return to this dispensary when I get my hands on a functional time machine, until then I've heard these same complaints from others far too many times. Save the bait-and-switch tactics for the teenagers because for many of us, the hours we spend searching for affordable, quality meds are hours we aren't necessarily guaranteed.
