Shango Win Sivers "Airport"

11/10/2015
In concept, it is cool that they keep buds in glass cylinders on display. Except you cannot smell them. They teased me by leaving primo buds inside the cylinders with attached SOLD OUT signs. The person beside me gravitated to the same bud I liked, only to have the budtender tell her it was sold out. Is this a social experiment to see if stoners can read signs? And what happens to the SOLD OUT buds that still reside in these small chambers? Also, the pricing seemed a bit steep. The budtenders were nice, and appeared knowledgable. They shared information about their personal lives to me, and their customer service seemed fine.

La Mota Southeast Portland

I praised Arden for his choice of positive music. Indeed, I felt positive energy throughout my experience. Arden watched me smell a couple of strains, and lined me up with flower after flower to whiff, sniff, and take in at my own pace. Red Crush was selling well. I love it when I hear, "You like pumpkins? (Yes, it smelled like pumpkins!) This one smells like chemicals. Here's chocolate ...." He started me with mellow scents, and worked his way up in aroma intensity, so I wouldn't lose my sense of smell. This is an art, within iteslf. Paired with uplifting music, I expanded my horizons! Kelly talked to my boyfriend mostly, but he did join me in a cheesy skit that I started, and was good natured and good humored about it. My boyfriend's eyes rolled, but I was tickled pink. Up front, Michele showed enthusiasm for my personal interests. They do not have televisions, their walls are bare white, and big jars are aligned on simple shelves. Their sense of minimalism allows the weed to speak for itself, with no distractions. Check out Triple Cheese. Thank You!

Rooted Northwest

Are you searching for a dispensary that has a few strains that you won't find anywhere else? Missing good old fashioned customer service? Look no further; Rooted Northwest is Portland's hidden treasure. Don and Pete are the Dynamic Duo. Don gave us extensive backgrounds on the flowers. Pete shared his experiences with the products. Together, they provided us with a well rounded sense of what to expect from many different strains. Almost all of their flowers and concentrates are from their own farm. If you just want to get high, go to any dispensary. If you are a connoisseur, go to Rooted Northwest!

The Grass Shack

Dawn checked us in, and Alex was our budtender. They were both friendly and down to earth. They understood my need for a cozy environment. Alex was very patient with us, and focused on finding me some good medicine. She is a nature lover, and I always get along with this crowd. Her relaxing energy eased me back into sanity. They also had a lot of the Leafly stickers, so I was able to add a couple to my collection. We got a caramel candy. It's a brand I have not seen before, and I get around!

Electric Lettuce - Montavilla

Fabulous place! Kodey, Anthony, and Tami were a most friendly trio. All three provided me with the perfect customer service. They had a nice mix of familiar strains and newer hybrids. If I could only use one word to describe Glisen Buds, I would say, "Groovitude!" This is a groovy attitude. Try their Green Crack if you have a budget, or Blue Dragon Haze, if you want to treat yourself.

OG Kush

OG Kush makes me super paranoid. I have anxiety and PTSD, but I can smoke a lot of sativa's without extra anxiety. This is not one of them. They say everybody is different. It was mostly a nice high, with moments of overthinking and stress. However, it is a popular strain.

Cannatonic

This is my go-to for anxiety and PTSD. I can maintain my energy levels, while grounding myself. Makes me feel more connected to the world, instead of my usual routine of mentally floating around. Best of all, I become more functional and focused.

Harlequin

Harlequin makes me a little drowsy, kind of like cough syrup. It is nice to use when I am super amped. Then it just levels me out. Otherwise, I opt for the Canna tonic. It maintains my energy level while calming me down.

Blue Dream

Blue Dream creeped up on me. And when it hit me, it was a pleasant surprise. Nice balance of energy and relaxation. I was tired before I smoked, with sore muscles. Relaxed my body while giving me mental alertness. Unleashed my creative, talkative side.

TJ's Provisions

11/2/2015
This is a nice store. They were very flexible with us. They had just ran out of the free pre-rolls, so I asked if we could just have a half gram of flower. They said yes, which was really nice since most pre-rolls are just a mix of shake. They had Blue Headband, which I had never seen before. I bought some of TJ's CBD in Portland, so I was excited to go into their store, and to see their cups on display. My only criticism is that their store is a little too small for my taste, as far as square foot area.
