14mm female fumed banger hanger by B Money Glass B Money’s journey started in 2007 in Troy, NY. There, he encountered Phil of Prism Glassworks. This was his first impression of lampworking, the specific style of glass blowing that B$ practices today. It was an extreme departure of classic vision most people think of when they hear “Glass Blowing”. The torch, the materials, the infinite possibilities…He was instantly hooked. Eventually, a few lessons turned into an apprenticeship. In turn, this evolved into an invaluable life changing experience. After many years of education and hard work, it was time for B Money to venture off on his own. Soon thereafter, he landed back on Long Island, where he was born and raised. Currently residing at Long Island Glass, here he continues the traditions learned upstate of paying knowledge forward and routinely exposing new people in the form of glass blowing classes to lampworking. Which remains a core tenet of his business to this day. What is Fume? – Fume is the process of atomizing minute amounts of silver and gold in the flame of the torch and in essence, spray paint the glass with the fumes coming off the metal. If you do this properly in different ratios, you can achieve all the different colors in the rainbow. Pinks, reds, yellows, oranges, blues, greens, purples are all possible. It all comes down to the skill of the artisan. The fume also appears to change colors. With a white background behind it, more of the pinks/yellows/reds come out, but then with a black background more of the blues/greens/purples start to really pop.
