June is here folks! Will the weather permit you to hit the cottage or soak up the sun in the city this month? We can only wait and see. You will, however, find a lion’s share of cannabis-themed events happening all over the province. Check them out below.

Hamilton

HempFest Cannabis Expo Hamilton

When: June 1 and 2, 12:00 p.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s, 1 Summers Lane

For the Hamilton stop of the HempFest Cannabis Expo, expect talks and promotions centering on both the hemp and cannabis industries. Showcases from licenced producers, retailers, accessory companies, soil and nutrient providers, medical professionals, and health and wellness services are on the docket, plus much more. Tickets range between $15 and $40 for this +19 event.

Kingsville

Expand Your Knowledge of Cannabis

When: June 14, 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: Grape Lakes Farm & Vineyard, 710 Seacliff Drive

Learn about plant management, growing options, and how to make coconut cannabis extracts and capsules at this event intended to inform attendees about chronic pain treatment. Guest speaker Jack Kungel shares his experience getting on top of chronic pain with cannabis and cannabis extracts. The talk takes place at a gorgeous vineyard and costs $60.

Ottawa

Ottawa’s very own Superette launches their newest e-commerce site at the City of Om Festival, bringing their cannabis-centric style outside for a one-day pop-up experience. Once you’ve checked out Superette’s pop-up, stroll the Vendor Village, join one of the all-day outdoor yoga classes on the Great Lawn, or attend a workshop class brought to you by Whole Foods and East Court. Tickets range between $55 and $160 (children under 12 are free).

Richmond Hill

Medicinal Cannabis 101 & Yoga Flow Workshop

When: June 4, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: The Centre for Therapeutic Massage, 10120 Yonge St., Unit 3

Join host Rose Raj, Medical and Pharmaceutical Representative for Medicinal Cannabis, as they address questions, educate attendees on therapeutic consumption, side effects, and the do’s and don’ts pertaining to medicinal cannabis as an alternative therapy. The chat will be followed by a yoga flow session hosted by The.HappYogi. Admission is $20. Snacks and delicious juices will be provided.

Toronto

Elevated: Marketing Cannabis in the Age of Regulation

When: June 5, 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Where: Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), 158 Sterling Rd.

Hear industry experts and successful cannabis entrepreneurs explain their strategic, brand building process as they “spill the hemp tea” on brand creation and product marketing specific to the cannabis industry and its intensive regulatory framework. Tickets cost between $35 (early bird) and $55.

Lift & Co. Cannabis Expo Toronto 2019

When: June 6 to 9, various times
Where: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, 255 Front St.

Programming varies throughout the expo, from business conferences to consumer-facing vendor villages. Expect showcases from industry leaders covering all the latest in cannabis.

Matty’s Variety Show

When: June 8, 8:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.
Where: East End Toronto (announced June 7)

Presented by Matty’s Pattys, Matty’s Variety Show promises “Dope things with DOPE people.” Expect comedy, drag, dance battles, and chef-curated eats thrown down in a 420-friendly theatre in the east end. No cannabis for sale here, but feel free to bring your own. Tickets are $15 to $25 for this +19 event.

Not Your Grandad’s Weed: The Forensic Science of Cannabis

When: June 18, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Where: Toronto Public Library – Northern District Branch, 40 Orchard View Blvd.

Join internationally recognized forensic toxicologist, author, and expert witness James Wigmore as he discusses the history of cannabis and alcohol, comparing these two popular psychoactive drugs in an updated presentation. Learn about different strain types, risks inherent to cannabis consumption, and how cannabis has changed since the 1960s. This is a free event!

Sex Ed with a Twist

When: June 21, 7:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Where: Detailed with RSVP

Sex Ed with a Twist is coming to Toronto, presenting their popular Sex Toy Party mixed with cannabis. This event is perfect for any woman looking to learn how to incorporate cannabis and cannabis-related products into their sex life. This evening is for women +19 (ID required). Admission is $10 and includes a glass of wine, a small joint, and a raffle ticket.

Toronto’s Craft Beer Festival featuring Hot Box Cafe’s POTio

When: June 21 to 23
Where: Ontario Place (West Island), 955 Lake Shore Blvd W.

Check out the city’s first legal “POTio” at Toronto’s Craft Beer Fest. This annual beer festival celebrates independent craft brewers and cider-makers along with amazing eats, live music, and for the first year, a dedicated space on the grounds for legal cannabis consumption.

Cannabis: Implications for Mental Health

When: June 4, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Where: Family Resource Centre, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, 700 Gordon St., Building 5, Level 2

In this six-part Family Education Series, families are welcome to learn about the implications of cannabis for mental health. Advanced registration is requested.
