This used to be a great spot for medical - even after rec became legal they still tried. They weren’t great with the medical stuff and should have been better trained in dealing with healthcare patients, but they tried. Then rec came and they started sucking. This place is by far the worst I’ve dealt with. When I mentioned it to an employee (they’re not bud tenders anymore) they told me it’s rec now, so medical blah, blah, blah. They mess up online orders all the time. All the time. Some will stick the right label on the wrong product thinking we won’t notice. Some make an effort to tell you they don’t have a product. Some will cancel the whole order. My last three orders were confirmed but never filled. They don’t seem to have a standard operating procedure. When it’s pointed out to the employees, they blame managers. One of the assistant managers blamed her screw up on new management. I’m going to take their word for it. It’s the people who took over good dispensaries around town and turned them into Harvest HOC. Seriously. They finally get to run legal weed businesses and this is how they do it. Awful. They’re that one jerkoff in school who pinched, shorted and acted like a*******. I’m done.
I’m a MMJ user and smoke flower for chronic low back pain, headaches, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; although I believe Arizona only certifies for the low back pain.
For the past two weeks I’ve been working on my lawn and garden. Lots of stooping, raking, digging, lifting. My wrist has been killing me and getting worse. I tried several go-to strains with little relief.
Tonight I found about an 1/8 of Hemlock popcorn buds in my stash; it was originally a 1/2 ounce that I paid $70 for six months ago. It still has an amazing aroma. I think it smells like citrus. It’s super dry, but I ground it up and rolled it with a splash of Nuclear Cookies. It’s been about 20 minutes, and I’m already getting relief from the wrist pain. I had a headache, too, and it’s just kind of melted away. I hear and feel a nice buzz around me. I don’t have the munchies ... yet. I’m starting to melt into myself and the couch. If it shows up at the dispensary again, I’ll definitely stock up. Okay, now I want pizza. That didn’t take long, but now I don’t want to get up.
Stopped in this beautiful Saturday morning around 930 - there were more staff waiting to help than there were patients. They were dressed for Halloween, too, which is fun! Took a few minutes to fill out new pt paperwork and another minute or two before my bud tender called me back. Sorry, my new friend, but I forget your name due to either a previous head wound and subsequent concussion or medication side effects. I forget which one is causing memory loss. Anyway, the lobby is nice and comfortable (dare I say classy compared to other dispensaries), and I agree with all the positive comments - service, quality, so many choices, atmosphere, they trim and weigh your flower right in front of you, which I love. I picked up an 1/8 of LSD and 1/8 of Wookies. I’ve had both from other harvests and love them, so I’m hoping they’re similar to my previous experiences. My only criticism is that the menus change way too fast for me to read and think before transitioning to the next screen. Please slow your roll! :)
I typically don’t review strains because I love them all and can’t find enough words to express appreciation for every one. This is more like a Public Service Announcement.
You know there are lots of types of highs or buzzes or whatever; couch-lock is a popular one. Moby Dick is “outside weed”. Like a teacher or someone told you to use your inside voice, most highs are like an inside voice - chill, happy, content. Moby Dick’s high is an outside voice! I couldn’t stop talking and didn’t want to sit down. My wife made me walk the dog, so I’d leave her alone!
I normally go for Indica - inside or screened-in patio voice. This statin makes me want to jump off the patio and run through fields. I hope Uber is around cause I prolly won’t feel like walking back.
This is a review of my second and third visits. My bud tender was Mimi. I’m a veteran, and Mimi made me feel appreciated and respected. I don’t go looking for that and normally avoid any attention to my service, but Mimi was so genuinely sincere that I took note of her talent to connect with people. Bravo Zulu, Mimi.
Two days later, Sarah was my bud tender. And like Amy and Mimi, she connects with people. My job requires me to talk to people from all walks of life about the most intimate details of their lives. I find it easy to make connections with people, so I notice when others can do the same. Other than the time I spent with Sarah, the thing of note on my third visit was free parking lot tacos! I only took a bottle of water and appreciated that, but it’s cool that Nirvana had a treat for patients and gave a local vendor space to create and prosper.
The short review is: whoever does the hiring at The Nirvana Center, they’re doing an outstanding job! To appease the gods of negativity, I’ll kindly ask the facility manager to clean the lobby couches. They’re nasty.
Today was my first visit to this gem, and it set the standard for how I rate local dispensaries. If you’re not doing it like Urban Greenhouse, you’re not doing it right.
Urban Greenhouse is like dispensaries in Colorado and Washington. Sure, there’s a guard at the door like other dispensaries (in Cortez, CO & Bellingham, WA, I don’t recall security at the door). However, when you walk in the door, the check-in staff isn’t tucked behind bullet proof glass and a muffled microphone. The beautiful young lady at the desk greeted me and smiled. She took my card and state ID (again, first visit). There was no paperwork. Filling out the contact form was optional. Minutes later she gave me back both cards. At all the other places, they pass it along to the bud tender and you get it back later; you know the drill. Nope, she entered my info and quietly called my name to give back the cards; I hate those microphones and muffled voices through that thick-ass glass. Then, I sat right in the middle of the sales floor on comfortable benches for a few minutes while waiting for a bud tender. Some other dispensaries have nasty lobbies; clean your damn couches people! Urban Greenhouse’s lobby is pleasant and comfortable. I’m not sure, meant to ask, if the plants in the lobby planters are real, but they definitely look cool and add to the atmosphere.
Next, Jeremiah came to the lobby and called my name. He was super pleasant and easy to talk to. He explained their model, which is amazing. If you’ve never been, I’m not going to ruin it for you. Just go and experience it. If you’ve been and are like me, you probably love their approach.
And while I feel like it was my lucky day, I think it was a normal day for them. HG was outside the front door doing a promo. I spun the wheel and walked away with a nice lighter, which is what I wanted. A stoner always needs a lighter. The other stuff was cool, but I didn’t need a t-shirt. I was going to buy a lighter, so winning one was perfect! Halo Infusions & Extractions was inside, and had cool swag. I got to pick (no wheel spinning) and grabbed another lighter. Also, because I made a medical purchase, I got a freebie from Halo - a pack of infused gummies!
With the new patient BOGO and Halo sample, I got a quarter of flower, an edible and two new lighters for $38.01. But I got much more than that. I got a good experience and a new way to measure the value a dispensary adds to my life and lifestyle.
Side note for my Veteran brothers and sisters - I think they offer a 5% discount.
Picked up an 1/8 for $35 at Arizona Organix. Read a bunch of reviews and was happy to find these nugs. I'm not the flowery, descriptive type. I smoke, heal and enjoy. I took two hits from a pipe and within minutes felt pretty f'n amazing. I was about to get couch locked, but my family pulled me out the door. The buzz lasted a good while, but the intensity fell off fast. Later I smoked a J and can't say I got the same buzz. No matter. I've got enough to try and enjoy a few times, but I'm not sure this strain overcomes my love for GSC.
First visit was great! My bud tender was super cool - she told me her name, but I was high and forget what she said! 😳 She was great though, and I remember she said she was a customer for four years before recently starting work there. That says a lot! I got a free gram of Papa OG (they were out of pre-rolls), and it's tasty, but the 1/8 of Big Bud gives me the kind of buzz I like. They also had my favorite - GSC! Great prices, too! I'll be going back to explore there great strains!
VOTSMD has great product and super friendly staff. They do a great job of communicating deals and have awesome flash sales. I'd like to see them add a couple more bud tenders during high traffic times, but if you go often enough, you'll figure out the best times to avoid crowds.
