Black Dog reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Black Dog.
1st Review but have been wanting to do these more to help the weed community. Journeyman long time toker here. Can barely write this I’m sooo baked! I got this for a Sleep Tonic because it’s an indica strain. I’ve heard great things from other reviews so I decided to give it a go. Purchased at Native Nations in Flandreau, SD. In house grown flower. FLAVOR: Very Earthy. Very Rich as in if it were a black coffee like strong flavor that’s it! Very different high. Not so cerebral but still euphoric. Very relaxing as my body gets more and more stuck my head floats more and more. Very nice strain and can see how in time I’ll be out for the night. Reminding me of some Blackberry x Blueberry I had recently in Denver, CO that was really relaxing and helped me sleep. If you like earthy, get stuck to the couch, pass out kind of weed this is definitely for you. Will be going in my medicine cabinet with my Raz Kush sleep strain. 👍🏻💯🙏🏻🏆
As a newbie, the dispensary recommended I try this. I purchased pre-rolls of this strain. It was a great experience as a beginner, I could learn and play around with how many hits worked for me. I recommend to other beginners, and, as someone who suffers insomnia and panic disorder- this did not jack me up or spaz me out - it was very relaxing but not “in-da-couch” or over the top! 5 stars!
I had black dog at phresh cannabis and man, very frosty and sticky loved it.. will definitely go back for $17 a 8th.. 🤤
This is yet another lovely strain that I've come to enjoy from Ozone. It came in hefty lime green with vibrant red haired nugs. That were quite dense and very stanky. But honestly the flavor is one of the best I've ever come across. The blackberry from blackberry kush is honestly one of the most spot on flavors I've had, and that mixed with the headband slight diesel funkiness. Is just truly sublime, and the high is a nice cerebral to body-numbing relaxation that is perfect for after work relaxing.
Nice potency with notes of blackberry, grape, and nerds candy. The effect is very relaxing. Expect mellow vibes. Better for movies than conversation.
Great strain to get relaxed
Form: PTS Black D.O.G. Crumble Wax. Labs: 74% THC, no detectable CBD.
Consumed via a Yocan Evolve Plus pen (an adequate and very inexpensive wax pen for us poor folk who are newbs to wax, but with no temp control, meaning I can’t really comment on the taste.)
The experience:
Lovely indica, very very relaxing but pretty clear-headed. Sleepy but one can fend that off. (I say now. I also do feel like taking a nap. But so far after a couple of hits, I can use it during the day for extra stress and still remember my name. And write this review. How clear it is I leave to the readers’ judgement, as I am medicated with the Dog as I write.
This is only the second time I have “dabbed,” and I have gone from COVID pacing in an unsafe home to pretty chill for now. That’s saying a lot. Whoever compared it to Xanax had a similar reaction to mine. The Dog can eat your stress and fears. Just call for it and fill a bowl. (Or order online. Apparently it can also make one make bad puns out of dispensary measures re: COVID. But still leave you clear-headed enough to remember your face mask when you go out. Which is possible on this strain; though my legs, I note, are kind of wobbly.) No anxiety, paranoia, or racing heart, which are all key because I have a couple anxiety disorders and that is what I am using this for.
The Dog was recommended to me by the bud tender as a good substitute for what I was looking for but they were out of temporarily (PTS’s Champion City Chocolate—aka Chocolate OG—crumble, my first “dab” experience.) That would be my first choice for insomnia and heavy pain, but the Dog is a very acceptable substitute. Not as heavy; but sometimes you want to be chilled, get a great body high, but stay coherent. And it will put you in a nice restful frame of mind from which sleep would come naturally were it near bedtime.
To give you some context, my all-time fave pure or nearly pure indica is Hindu Kush, which is unavailable here in Chicago. (Hi, fellow Illini!) I will most definitely buy this again if the Chocolate OG is out of stock. Very, very nice effects.
I feel like an amateur writing a review after reading the others. Even though I've smoked for 40 years, I cannot describe it in such a scientific way. I like the taste. It is a fairly smooth smoke in my one-hitter. It does not make me cough. The buds are quite moist so there is some effort to "clean" it. Well, to break it up to smoke. That's a good thing.
It's a nighttime strain for me. It relaxes me and even helps a little with my chronic pain. It's the best I've tried lately for the pain. It does not cause any paranoia, which others have done. So it seems to be good for stress too.
I have found it to be perfect for relaxing in the evening and watching Star Trek on my couch with my cat.
