I love this on its own or mixed with my favorite hybrid, Serious Happiness. On its own it is calming, reduces anxiety, instantly cures nausea, and helps with sleep. With a sprinkle of Serious Happiness it becomes a smiley euphoric high that I looooveee.
I just did a review on cannatonic and explained how I disliked the jello and lazy day feeling (at least in the daytime) I got from this strain. But after a half hour that feeling went away and I felt quite nice, relaxed, and uplifted. Maybe this strain is so different from others that it takes some getting used to. Like I said, I will look out for and try different cbd and thc ratios of cannatonic to see the differences. For now I upgrade cannatonic to 4 stars. I just don't think I would quite recommend this strain as a pre work/ morning strain if you have a job that requires a lot of coordination or physical work. Really nice and unique feeling though.
This is my first review here and my first time trying Cannatonic for my chronic migraines. Great aroma and flavor. Very smooth (not harsh on the throat). I noticed right off a nice & mild fuzzy feeling in my forehead and behind my eye's. No high at all. Honestly I just felt like myself which is good. I wasn't as tensed up and it seemed to help with my nausea. For pain I'd rate it (from 1-10) a 6 on its own. I still needed my mild THC strain sprinkled in to push the pain back to a tolerable level. I'd purchase it again.
This is first time user review - as in first time using MMJ ever, and first strain.
Using an O.penvape 2.0, I started Cannatonic on orange setting (sort of medium, still mild): strong citrus notes, more towards grapefruit/bitter orange than sweet orange. Very pleasant. Tastes a little like a mild take on Citra hops. Recreational users will probably be craving a run to Treehouse for Julius after having some of this.
Interesting bit: I turned it down to purple/low, and it tasted more buttery. Also very pleasant. But doesn't draw as well on the low setting. Viscosity issue?
Sensation of using this strain, for me, is easier to describe in terms of absence of things.
I'm taking MMJ for psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis. The psoriasis always feels like a low grade hum of pain in the skin. The pain hum is G-O-N-E. I was sitting here thinking "something's changed, but I can't pinpoint what", and just realized that's what it was.
The second thing I noticed: omnipresent joint pain in small bones in my fingers: it faded. It is GONE. I don't remember the last time I did -not- feel pain in those parts of my hands. I'd literally forgotten what it felt like to type without my small bones hurting.
I was using hemp-based CBD lotion (Shikai, I recommend, it's odorless) on my hands before - which assisted with inflammation, but only dulled pain, didn't eliminate it.
The combo of the lotion and the vape? Yeah, we may be on to something here.
Head/Psychological effects: Feeling calm and relaxed - an absence of the hum of anxiety that accompanies my days. Again, noticing absence of "problem things". This could also be a reaction to the pain disappearing.
Around the time I noticed the joint pain had gone, I felt a sensation forward in the head, top of head just behind my forehead hairline, like a warm ball is forming there. The ball started out racquetball size, and feels like it's slowly expanding and melting. So that's nice. ;)
TL;DR - as a first time user with chronic inflammatory joint disease, this was a lovely introduction to a valuable medicine. It's a strain that can get me operational in the morning quickly, without leaving me feeling impaired. My head's clear and focused but I can still multitask (not hyper-focused). Emotionally I feel calm and chill, not giggly, and not ecstatic.
One thing to be aware of: dry eye. I have another medication that has a side effect of dry eyes, in addition to this. If you're in a similar situation, get yourself a gel lubricant eye drop, like Genteal. CVS carries a generic version. Look for the orange or the red strengths. Use the orange one during the day, and red at night. And don't skimp on drinking water!
I can honestly say BEST CBD STRAIN I have tried yet! I have lots of issues. This medicine helps me feel normal. Great anxiety relief and great to comfort benzo withdrawal. Great for fibromyalgia and spinal pain.
Cannatonic is great for what it is. A CBD dominate strain. It's a great strain if you want to relieve stress, depression or anxiety without wanting to feel the intoxicating effects from THC.
Nice and smooth flavour through my Pax2 vaporizer.
Fantastic for painful swollen joints. Gives me the ability to move pain-free and lasts a couple hours. Also helps with the depression that comes with chronic lupus pain.
I'm skeptical of CBD strains because everywhere I've gotten them from in the past they've been bunk. Not this one from The Connection Coopertive, its an ass kicker all the way around. Out of my Solo Vape the taste is fairly unique, I can't quite place it. The effects are incredible, very nice pain/stress relief as well as leaving me in a groovy Euphoria. Feelin chill, no worries. Grab this one while u can!
