First "medical" strain I've tried, so take that into consideration. It didn't do everything I wanted it to, because it had zero effect on my anxiety one way or the other (when vaped), but it did cut down significantly on my pain from Spastic Cerebral Palsy/Quadriplegia. Its next most noticeable effect was to regulate my sleep, even if I didn't use it close to going to bed; instead of being awake all night and sleeping during the day, as I was apt to do before, I find it helps me to feel like going to bed at a reasonable time and getting up early. Lastly, I did notice an elevated mood, and more ease in social interactions.
Points off because of the taste, and because I had to vape more than recommended to feel the effects. My next step is to experiment with different ways to ingest the ABV, and to mix it with a different strain (Dairy Queen) for an equal ratio of CBD to THC.
I tried the Cannatonic last week & havent used it since because I wasnt use to the experiences I had, however I find this strain very useful when experiencing HIGH pain.
There was little cerebral effects & what I did experience only lasted less than 20 minutes but left a vague feeling of uplifted.
The pain reduction was high, I experienced what could be described as an iron Shawl effect over both shoulders & neck which is where my most common problem for pain exists. within 10 minutes of vaping this strain I began to feel a slight high which was a good start, then a progressive clamping feeling arresting pain in my neck & shoulders from 2 medical conditions one of which causes severe headaches daily. I didnt have any problems with pain there after & was motivated to go to bed instead of staying up for a while to enjoy the euphoric feelings I typically get from other strains. I am ranking this strain for me personally as the morphine of cannabis lol its a definite pain relief strain I will use again. I just have to get use to the initial effects now.
I love this stuff! I have arthritis and the pain is gone within 5 minutes. Just a little bit of a head high, but short lived (about 15 mins). Pain relief lasts for about 2 hours.
This is first time user review - as in first time using MMJ ever, and first strain.
Using an O.penvape 2.0, I started Cannatonic on orange setting (sort of medium, still mild): strong citrus notes, more towards grapefruit/bitter orange than sweet orange. Very pleasant. Tastes a little like a mild take on Citra hops. Recreational users will probably be craving a run to Treehouse for Julius after having some of this.
Interesting bit: I turned it down to purple/low, and it tasted more buttery. Also very pleasant. But doesn't draw as well on the low setting. Viscosity issue?
Sensation of using this strain, for me, is easier to describe in terms of absence of things.
I'm taking MMJ for psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis. The psoriasis always feels like a low grade hum of pain in the skin. The pain hum is G-O-N-E. I was sitting here thinking "something's changed, but I can't pinpoint what", and just realized that's what it was.
The second thing I noticed: omnipresent joint pain in small bones in my fingers: it faded. It is GONE. I don't remember the last time I did -not- feel pain in those parts of my hands. I'd literally forgotten what it felt like to type without my small bones hurting.
I was using hemp-based CBD lotion (Shikai, I recommend, it's odorless) on my hands before - which assisted with inflammation, but only dulled pain, didn't eliminate it.
The combo of the lotion and the vape? Yeah, we may be on to something here.
Head/Psychological effects: Feeling calm and relaxed - an absence of the hum of anxiety that accompanies my days. Again, noticing absence of "problem things". This could also be a reaction to the pain disappearing.
Around the time I noticed the joint pain had gone, I felt a sensation forward in the head, top of head just behind my forehead hairline, like a warm ball is forming there. The ball started out racquetball size, and feels like it's slowly expanding and melting. So that's nice. ;)
TL;DR - as a first time user with chronic inflammatory joint disease, this was a lovely introduction to a valuable medicine. It's a strain that can get me operational in the morning quickly, without leaving me feeling impaired. My head's clear and focused but I can still multitask (not hyper-focused). Emotionally I feel calm and chill, not giggly, and not ecstatic.
One thing to be aware of: dry eye. I have another medication that has a side effect of dry eyes, in addition to this. If you're in a similar situation, get yourself a gel lubricant eye drop, like Genteal. CVS carries a generic version. Look for the orange or the red strengths. Use the orange one during the day, and red at night. And don't skimp on drinking water!

It sure helped with with my anxiety some and I suffer from bad anxiety disorder. I also have chrones desease and have bad stomache pain I just tried it for the first time and have not yet felt the full effect on the other symptoms.
Definitely not have a head high at all.
Used to smoke a lot as a teenager, had a horrible panic attack from it and didn’t smoke again forever. Came to realize of course I already had anxiety/depression issues without weed and it ended up just amplifying it when I would smoke.
Doctor prescribed benzos and ssri’s for depression.... but really don’t want to go that route and want something natural to help instead....
Luckily found this strain at sea of green in Toronto.. was looking for high CBD strain as it said non-psychoactive on the internet. I’m not sure if it’s just because I haven’t smoked in years (almost 9) but I started with literally two puffs and it got me high as shit. And made me super anxious and put myself down and beating myself up over things. So it definitely got me HIGH.. but made me think of things a bit more clearly after I came down.
I’m giving it three stars because the third time I smoked it.. it was the complete opposite and I felt blissful and just all around great and clear headed and accepted things and it’s as if my vision was crystal clear (mind you I went into smoking with a positive mindset for once) Hard to explain but it was great.
Downside is that when the high wears off it leaves me feeling dizzy with a mild headache that doesn’t seem to go away... this has happened every time.
Would recommend if you’re past the starting out phase and slowly getting more comfortable with smoking and know how to handle it.
The search for a strain that obliterates my anxiety and depression continues...
Fantastic for intense chronic pain. Brings a good 9/10 down to a 4/10
Cannatonic is great for what it is. A CBD dominate strain. It's a great strain if you want to relieve stress, depression or anxiety without wanting to feel the intoxicating effects from THC.
Nice and smooth flavour through my Pax2 vaporizer.
