Incredible indica strain. Hit me like a truck. Total couchlock and a little bit of sleepiness. Felt wonderful, like I was being rapped in a warm blanket. Great strain.

A great Classic Strain, simply put. I be telling the truth, y'all. A well done crop of Northern Lights should register somewhere in the 22-26% THC zone, and that's plenty strong, for the psychoactive properties of this wondrous flower make it a mind bending experience when smoked. I really like the effects of this "game changer" of the cannabis world. I'm an old timer, myself, having seen many moons, with over four decades of marijuana usage, (always aimed for best flowers or hash available in Southern California), and that said, Northern Lights is in my Top Ten Strains. The batch I'm enjoying now is lab rated at 24.78% THC, and is fresh, well cured and with the distinctive fruity scent and flavor very distinctive of Northern Lights. I get a good rush out of a big hit or two, then settle back for a bit to enjoy. Real nice feeling.
This old timer's giving this old Classic, 5 Golden Stars in the Hall of Cannabis Fame.
I LOVE northern lights!!!! This strain converted me into an indica lover!!! I struggle with anxiety and depression, and northern lights makes me not want to disintegrate. It's a great high, but I don't get that "oh shit i'm high" feeling. Makes me want to stare at the stars and tell everyone I know I love them.
Because of the purity, I can smoke so much of this stuff. There's almost no head high, this strain allows you to just feel so good emotionally. Queen of Indicas, my favorite strain is still Sour D, but Northern Lights is my second favorite. The relaxation and euphoria is unlike anything else. The northern lights come up is basically like heroine. Keep some Sour D for the days, Northern lights at night, you're set for life.
Where most strains start with a bit overwhelming euphoria for me (a kind of lift-off feeling), Northern Lights starts with the body. You feel your muscles and joints relaxing first, the mind slowly follows the body into a very relaxed state. Not by knocking out or dragging, but by gently leading the mind like a romantic evening stroll. It's a content easiness. Like sitting on the porch after a long day, looking at the day's work with a satisfied mind. Although the mind isn't that sharp anymore, conversations got empathic and on a more emotional level. Not really the strain to discuss theories or large concepts with. Multiple, very vidid dreams during the night and a good 10h sleep. This strain is wraps you in it's warm blanket, the finishing touch after an already succesful day.
Wow, the grower I spoke with warned me Indica dominants are big time sleepy buds. Northern Lights was def a sleepy bud for me. Migraine pain 5; nausea 5 when I medicated round 1930 or so. NO ANXIETY/PARANOIA; which is a must for me. Pain gone; nausea gone. Dizzy but gettin over a cold currently. Prolly a combo of fatigue, stress & the strain. I went to sleep soon after medicating. I recommend this strain BIG time. Best smell & taste to date; sweet & citrusy.

This has been a life saver for me. I was hesitant to try an indica as I already struggle with normal sleep patterns, but the intense high and the way my pain becomes an after thought is why this is my favorite strain.
I'd argue it even helps with my ADHD and bipolar disorder as it keeps my brain slow and my emotions under control.
Inspired by my uncle, I decided to try this strain after he told me it was his favorite. I now see why. This strain is absolutely fantastic for your end of the day relaxation. I'd caution new smokers not to smoke this strain during the day time as you may find it to have a very sedative effect. This is a strain you might want to smoke a couple hours or so before bed. In addition to sleep, this strain is also great for pain and stress. Breathe deep and allow the Aurora Borealis to take you across the night sky into a soothing state of comfort and peacefulness. Cheers!
