My second time consuming this strain tonight. This is bye far my favourite strain so far! I have RRMS and this instantly relaxes my entire body! It also gives my just enough of a head stone to help get to sleep.

Got some PK to alleviate my arthritis pain. Worked like a charm. So relaxed , and the monologue in my head went silent too. It was just the best feeling.

Leafly has left out the list of the different versions of the widely popular pk. The 3 versions are SR-71 pk, the most commonly available where I am (toronto, Las Vegas Purple Kush, and Garberville Purple Kush. The SR-71 cut is thought to be a very similar to Purple Urkle (possibly a hybrid) and has more of the typical "purple"/hashy grape flavor — it was passed most commonly by the SR-71 (now Blue Sky) Coffeeshop in the "Oaksterdam" section of Oakland, CA and may be Purple Afghani x Hindu Kush.  The Garberville Purple Kush is most notably held by Swerve of Cali Connection Seeds fame and tends to grow with some foxtails and has more of a straight-up Kush taste/smell with hints of the "purple".  Kyle Kushman's Las Vegas Purple Kush was claimed in a New Yorker article to be a special Purple Indica x Northern Lights find, but many have since claimed it's an S1 Bubba Kush of some kind due to the dark flavors present.  And finally, many old-school people claim that none of the famous clone-only PK's around are in fact the original Purple Kush, which is said to be a very special Purple Pakistani variety that was found in the late 70's or early 80's. The original cuts of GPK are shrouded in folklore, so there are several different phenotypes around. Although there are many companies and breeders selling the various types of pk in seed form, all 3 are supposed to be clone-only.

I'm reviewing this from the perspective of someone with anxiety and panic disorder and asthma which can augment my anxiety several fold! I'm incredibly sensitive to panic when i get a racy strain, so for me finding that balance is everything. I've had to quit smoking in the past because of this and it SUCKS, especially when you know certain strains do the opposite. They ease anxiety so very well! Not having access to medicinal strains in the past, has been hard on me. I'm so happy the laws have changed! I also suffer with arthritis and Costochondritis. It's also worth mentioning that i took a long tolerance break before getting my hands on this strain, an unintended one which can cause some serious anxiety when getting back into the swing of things. The first puff, 4-5 minutes later i felt the worry that i might have a bad high drifting away from me like a summer breeze! Taking another puff, the effects start to go to the head, a really pleasant stoney feeling. Third rip and my entire body is relaxed, my mind is worry free and the pain in my chest and spine has all but vanished! Take my word for it, if you have anxiety or panic disorder and you worry about strain sensitivity as i do. This stuff has you covered! Nothing sucks more than smoking something and feeling the panic set in! With this, no worries at all! The flavor profile is okay... not my favorite i'll be honest. It's very earthy, with hints of fruit and that woody cedar after taste. It's not a harsh smoke despite what iv'e heard, idk if this was just really well flushed, the ashes are nice and white so i'm sure it was. Smell is pleasant, very mild with an earthy grape scent to it. The flowers themselves look INCREDIBLE in the bag. Iv'e never had a purple variety before so i was quite taken a back by how dark they are. Nice and frosty, dense yet airy at the same time. Easily 5/5 for me and i'm glad it was my first review here. ^_^ Now if you'll excuse me, my Khajiit is calling. This one has some fishing to do!

A good choice to help get you to sleep. It's pretty strong, but the effects wear off pretty quickly. So if you're using it for insomnia, be prepared to medicate multiple times. Don't worry, a little goes a long way: if you wake back up, medicate again, and you'll be asleep once again in no time.

I picked some of this stuff and the buds were enormous, this weed is smooth and great tasting, it's an Indica that I believe has Sativa bloodlines. It made me just chillax and enjoy my day with plenty of energy so I didn't get couchlocked. But just like any good weed, I like to switch things up, because I get used to the buzz, and it's always good to throw your mind a curveball. Just saying.

I smoked a huge joint full of this strain in the early morning, so I can't say much for its reputation as an insomnia solution, but it did put me in something of a lazy state. Purple K has an incredibly long lasting high. About an hour after that first joint, I was ready to smoke a big bowl of its hash, which kept me high nearly all day.
