Spiritleaf cannabis stores are popping up across the country, and the St. Albert store—run by husband and wife team and former police officers Jayne and Jason Kent—is among one of the first Edmonton-area franchise locations for the Alberta-based chain.
“We wanted to provide a safe and reliable place to buy cannabis products and we felt that Spiritleaf’s values represented what we would want for the community,” Jayne told T8N Magazine in a recent interview.Introducing Leafly Pickup
Quick Hit
This store takes a conservative approach to retailing cannabis. You won’t find any bud on display but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an ample selection in stock.

The Vibe
Situated in a plaza at Bellerose and Bourdeau, this cannabis store is neighboured by suburban staples: orthodontists, boutiques, a pizzeria, etc.
Comfy chairs greet you inside the front doors and offer a warm welcome. Barnwood walls and a herringbone floor give off rustic vibes, but the space is otherwise quite contemporary.
Were it not for a wall of glass water pipes, you might not immediately register that this place sells cannabis.
Customer Service
Chat up the store’s proprietors and knowledgeable staff if you’re seeking guidance, or browse the store menu on touchscreens dialed into Leafly.
Orders can be placed at the counter and then products are retrieved from a back room.

Products & Price
Cannabis might be the main attraction, but this store is mainly merchandised with accessories and ancillary items.
Collections of crystal and carved wood are housed in glass cabinets while display cases are merchandised with magazines and silk flowers; recipe cards and baking supplies; resources for home-growing; and basic ancillary items like trays, rolling papers, and storage solutions.
Cannabis is scarcely seen on the showroom floor but digital menus mounted to the wall display the selection of strains and prices in store.
Expect to find a varied selection of dried flower, prerolls, and oil from Up, Aurora, Broken Coast, and at least a dozen more licensed producers.
