Garden Remedies-Newton: Med & Rec

Easily the most informed staff members on their own product and its effects. I like talking to PSAs that know a lot about cannabis because I do too - so I want y'all to keep up. Other dispensaries really need to catch up to GR in that regard. The concentrates are the best in the state - hands down. The flower? ...Is hit or miss. I bought 2 8ths of Rugburn OG on my last visit. One jar had nice fat nugs and they all looked perfect. The other jar had ENORMOUS stems, yellow burnt trim leaves all over most of the bud, and nothing but tiny larf nuggets. What the heck? How can I be satisfied with one jar of perfect medicine and the other looking like B or C grade at best? The price is also astronomical. They need to bring it down ASAP because things just aren't that expensive anywhere else in the country and even in the state.

Was a great place. They say they help but do not. In fact I am a veteran and had a discount to be told sorry we are no longer doing the discounts, only 10%. Needless to say, found a better place and products

I visited the adult use place in Newton. After getting some Garden Remedies flower from another dispensary that was extremely dry and moldy, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try their products again. This place still has some work to do. You have to go to one area and sign a waiver before you can enter the dispensary. There is no sign, no information on the website or anything notifying you of this. The security guard is the person who informs you and the is a bit of a language barrier there. After you sign the waiver you get to go back outside and walk over to the entrance. Again you’re ID’d. Once you enter the building you’re ID’d again and then you go through another door that leads you to the budtenders. Again you’re ID’d first thing by the bud tender. So a total of 4 times I had to show my ID and sign a waiver. The menu will have everything listed and thc and cbd content. I opted for the Sour Kosher flower because the menu said 29% thca. To my surprise when I got home, the label reads 23.8% tcha and 0.2% thc. So basically they lied to my face about what they’re selling. The flower looks nice but when I scaled it out, it only weighed 3.24. So I got lied to and shorted. Wow! First week adult use is like this...???

Do not understand the negative reviews. Have visited 3 times, each time has been 5 to 10 minutes with a helpful staff. Plus the product is fantastic. Goodbye Neta ;)

was in and out (thanks to order ahead via Leafly) in NO MORE than 3 mins...BEATs standing in line in Brookline like a cattle of heard for 20+ mins!!!

Overall five stars all around for this new dispensary even given its recent difficulties keeping a wide variety of flower strains available. Excellent location, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great products when they're available. The Tangerine Kush and Commerce City Kush are absolutely top notch when they are available, and they have had a reasonably wide variety of strains available over time, while definitely an indica leaning shop. Best of luck for the future!

Ultra convenient , and professional, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Pre-ordered through Leafly and my order was confirmed quickly it was ready in 10 minutes. No waiting when I arrived! I will be a repeat customer.

Fast, Easy, Friendly and holy cow I am not limited to these 3.5 gram amounts that cost me $15 a day in gas for the 1/8th a day I smoke. I will only come to Garden Remedies after going to 3 other recreational shops. It is in the title. LOCAL LIMITS. Thank you Garden Remedies for making it a little easier for the average consumer!

Went Christmas Eve 2016 for my first visit and mid February for my second. The vape cartridges are the only product bringing me back. I have tried the flower both visits and was not impressed at all. Very dry, loose nugs with little to no flavor/smell. The vape cartridges are very smooth and tasty but too expensive for heavy, everyday use. Haven’t tried anything else so not going to knock the rest of their products!

Not a bad location for being right in Newton. Very pleasant staff, product selection was okay, surprisingly found more seeds than I thought I ever would for medical quality...Little disappointing. overall staff very cool.

Great experience

The fact that they still do appointments for recreational is absurd. I was angry and frustrated as my father had died the day before and the guy at the counter basically responded with "I'm not going to help you." All the elderly Boomer patients just laughed at me. The Worst Generation for real. This is not how you do recreational marijuana. This is pathetic. I've been to four other legal states and this is the only one I've ever encountered this in. The boomers seemed to think this was the law. It's not. Other dispensaries don't do appointments. Classic boomers, always wrong. To the fat guy at the desk, I hope your dad dies suddenly so you know what this feels like. Garbage human being.

This is as close to "the dream" of intelligent, legal marijuana services as it can get. This was my first time buying marijuana legally and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Service was very quick, friendly, personable. I got checked in in a second even though they prefer you to enroll online. The woman at checkout who helped me was an incredible help and was patient explaining details to me. The oil I got is incredible. I got a .5ml cart of the Ghost Haze and I can't believe it, but it actually really tastes *that* good all on its own. You would want to smoke it even if it wasn't psychoactive. And on top of that, the psychoactive part, is exactly what I want out of cannabis. It's a very energetic, social medicine. The reputation it has is very, very well deserved. Unfortunately, the flower is very old and dry. I got an eighth of the Chemdog. I have heard from elsewhere people have complained about their flower being old so it's a pattern. The bodeva packs they use just don't cut it at all IMO. I'm not running the place so I can't speak for the decisions they make, but the output makes it seem like it's just a bad idea. I'm sure the science says these humidity packs are fine, but the tested date on my package says March, and it's clear as day the problem is that the bud was sitting next to a humidity pack for six months. I guess the outcome is better than if it was sitting in the open but their logistics as far as handling bud makes me think I'll only come back for the oil. So I focused a bit here on how bad the flower is, but compared to the overall service, it's more accurate to say the flower is just mediocre. The overall experience was so, so good!

THE VERY BEST dispensary in MA! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the products they carry. The staff will help you select from the different types of herbal medication available in order to find the best type for you (edible, flower, oil, lotion, etc.). I have been coming here for years now and will continue to make this my go-to dispensary. The wait-time/lines to get inside and grab your medicine are short! They also have an express line if you are a medical marijuana patient to fast track your wait time. They also save their products for medical patients when supplies are low so medical patients can always get the medicine they need.

Great stay , friendly environment with pharmacy like atmosphere , nothing negative to say besides the selection of flower, I wish they had more strains to offer

My biggest complaints are 1) lack of product for adult use. Went the other day and they only had 2 strains, and they were the least popular ones. 2)The people who work security there have bad attitudes. This has happened to me on more than one occasion and I'm getting sick of it to the point I will drive further to go somewhere else. I'm 50 years old and to have to deal with these 20 somethings smarmy, condescending attitudes is getting to be a bit much.

I was flabbergasted about the whole place! I had called a couple days prior and a caregiver answered, she was very sweet and had told me someone named Matt will call you to answer your questions. He certainly did he spent close to 30-45 minutes talking to me about what is best for me after hanging up with him . I could not wait to go! I finally decided to take a trip after the snow storm 2/11/17. My husband drove me. I never go anywhere without my husband I have major anxiety. When I walked in Matt was there to greet me , right there I felt at ease . We walk into the dispensary and wow it was so clean and everything was so private. Matthew introduced me a to a guy named Andrew. He was the nicest man I ever met he spent an hour explaining everything to me and what would be best for me. All I can say if you are like me and New with all this medicinal marajuana products I would highly recommend Garden Remedies it's worth the trip. I want to thank Matthew and a big thanks to Andrew for taking the time and also taking care of me! I will be back. ❤😀😀

Garden remedies in Newton started out as being a really great place to buy cannabis. But it seems like as of late, they do not have the same amount of choices for flower and pre-rolls. Extremely disappointed the last few times I went. Please Garden Remedies, you really need to get your game back!
