Having had Maui Waui on the island many times and here in cali, the real thing is definitely available here in shops. The easiest way to tell the real genetics IMO is to watch for the "spookiness". It's a super fun sativa but has a certain head warping w a touch of creepiness that's unique to the MW. Even mislabeld Maui is probably going to be a good sativa of some sort.

Honestly one of the best strains I have ever had. Got me high super quick, but was able to smoke on it for a while. Very pleasant taste and smell, making giant bong rips very pleasant with this strain. Had a very creative high that made me just jam to my Led Zeppelin. I would recommend this strain to anyone looking for an intense, heartfelt high.

Everything you want in a good Sativa. From the first hit you can feel the euphoria beginning to wrap around your head. A nice, mellow high, uplifting and with a nice head change. Smoke is sweet and light, and the smell reminds me more of banana laffy taffy than pineapple, but you can definitely catch the citrus taste when you hit it. Leaves a nice aftertaste. A classic strain with a well deserved reputation, I can see why it was so popular among the surf crowd of the late 60's and early 70's. As they used to say, this strain is 'primo'.

lucked up on a sack from Washington state a few weeks ago, damn damn DAMN! I had to back up and set it down, a few times! tasted great, munchies were in full effect and my dreams were epic!!!!

Created a lot of smoke compared to other buds. Sweet flavor which kicks in quick: chest tightens,ringing in my neck/throat, eyes get cold and heavy, and then the spins begin. As the high peaks and begins the decline, eyes/head get heavy, munchies initiate.

Perfect Party weed. This bud came as some beautiful big buds coated in crystals. Favorite part of the strain was definitely the smell and taste which transports you to a tropical island. Effects had me feeling uplifted and happy along with talkative and social. This seemed like the perfect strain for a Friday or Saturday night out with friends. The gram I tried of the Maui Waui was only about 16% THC which makes it the perfect combo with some tequila without the fear of getting the spins (;

My favorite sativa hands down. The world just slows down and everything is alright. I've smoked this strain hiking, and fully connected with mother nature. I could feel the peace around me. It felt like mother earth was playing with me when snow would drop from the trees and lightly fall on my face. I slipped and slid down a hill and laughed all the way down. I came across another winter hiker, and saw his positive energy shine around him as we wished each other a happy hike. I watched a deer run past me with a confused look on his face, and enjoyed watching him, wondering what it was like to be him. Bottom line, when you see this strain, pick it up. It's beautiful.
