It choses favourites and enemies, I have been on both sides of this line. At its best, it treats you like an old friend, leaning in and consuming you in a soft and quiet bear hug. It’s familiar, comforting. At its worst, it plays games with your mind, twisting and turning the world into an inescapable labyrinth.
Stardawg was a strain that simply surprised me from appearance to taste, to overall high. My buds came as mid-density, vibrant green flower, with bright orange hairs very prevalent in it’s appearance. The flower smelt almost like wet earth with a tad of woodsy sweetness. Upon “cracking open” the flower, an even sweeter almost citrusy/earth-like aroma smacked my tastebuds silly.
The high creeps on and isn’t seemingly immediate - about 5 minutes for me. First, settling in was a body high with a pressure behind my eyes that let me know with each waking minute, I was about to blast off.
10 minutes for me and the high was in it’s full blossom. I went from lazy to ready to clean the house. I dusted, vacuumed, and cleaned the kitchen - before I knew it (about an hour and a half later) I was finished and ready to relax.
I smoked a small bowl via bong and took a seat on the couch to find that the bud was as motivating as it was relaxing. An interesting combo to remain focused or pop-a-squat somewhere comfortable to relax in front of the tv.
Great high that seems to make me want to jump into any conversation, just for the result of interaction. Ready to go walk around a local mall or flea market…or just sit right where I am and do nothing for the rest of the day.
I will definitely buy more soon.
I've been smoking for 7 years and have tried many strains but this is by far my favorite strain. You can smoke this alone and get a lot done in your day or you can smoke this with friends and will have a very enjoyable high and will find yourself laughing a lot. This strain is definitely good for anxiety and depression as you'll feel like everything witll just be okay.
Also I'm a filmmaker and videographer and this definitely brings out creative ideas, and I'll find myself typing new ideas into my phone and being happy or interested with them, not high.
The first time I got to try StarDawg was in Ventura, CA back in 2010. I was growing Pre98 Bubba, and had taken a sample to a friends house. While there my friend said his buddy had just dropped off 1/2LB of this strain called StarDawg.
We rolled a 4gram blunt and poured some tequila. I don't remember much else.
StarDawg spoke to my soul. So much I agreed to trade a cut of my beloved Pre98 Bubba for a few cuts of this StarDawg.
Later I would learn the cut had come from Kyle Kushman, and within a year I was closing up shop on Pre98 Bubba and converting everything to StarDawg.
How do you describe a room with a few thousand? INTOXICATING. Spicy Nag Champa incense.
With Pre98 Bubba I could guarantee an OZ on a plant. With StarDawg at week 4 I could tell I already had way over an OZ. She would go on to average 2.5 oz in a 3 gallon pot filled with coco.
Once cured it should smell sweet like sour diesel but then your nostrils get hit with extreme spicy, but with hints of mint or some would call it kind of Pine like Kosher Kush. Basically most of that nag champa leaves out but a touch does remain. You can find it once you grind them up and they haven't cured for a few months.
I dedicated my medical growing career to this strain and changed many lives. Only strain I ever grew that always had 50Lbs pre-sold. Was universally loved between male & female clients.
I would go on to cross this strain with Tahoe OG, Chem-D, and finally Pre-98. The best cross came from a cut I had called Chem-T. I had crossed Chem-D with Tahoe OG, and called it Chem-T. You got the weight of Chem-D with the effects of Tahoe. Once crossed with Star Dawg the lemon smell went into over drive with raw spice. Harbor Side was blown away.
I'm really into this one, makes me feel happy, hungry, and the body high is nice. Kinda half and half on the body/head high. I will definitely buy again.
Stardawg is the perfect strain for so many reasons and my absolute favorite. It is a psychedelic and creative high that is perfect for out-of-the-box thinking and analysis. It's the ultimate strain for watching anything complex or mind-bending, and will open your mind to seeing things in a way that you never considered. I love Stardawg and have never had a bad experience while under its influence despite being a person who is prone to anxiety. I highly recommend this kickass strain.
This is a nice smoke it gets me smashed but unfortunately it makes me a bit paranoid and my ears burn making me think somebody is talking about me, not really a nice side effect to be honest i just like the taste..
Music sounds better and movies are better while high on dogg so not all bad
This amazing little bud has been a miracle cure for me! Typically I'm smoking to ease my anxiety and depression as well as osteoarthritis pain. Anyway, long story short I'm weaning off of Cymbalta with my Dr's help. Even after going down In dosage as much as possible, I'm still having withdrawal issues. I just want to tell you that this particular strain is actually helping relieve my symptoms (brain zap sensations, nausea, headaches, fatigue)! I also do not feel "high" when I smoke this.....just happy, relaxed and comfortable. No dry mouth, no munchies, no dry eyes....I feel great!
