This is my GO-TO for anytime of the day when I need to have a little pick-me-up with a hint of pain relief and a lot of stress relief. It is Sativa through and through but I do not notice any of the typical negative Sativa side effects: no anxiety, paranoia, etc.
I MUST have it at all times. This was a game changer for me
And I have extreme severe chronic pain and I use other strains at different times but this is one that I always have loaded and ready to go.
Love love love love it
Absolutely perfect strain. It focuses my thoughts and makes me mentally energized and happy!! I've been smoking it even at night and it has never given me anxiety or racing thoughts. It feels great
After a few times smoking/vaping an industry friend’s high quality homegrown Maui Wowie cultivar, this is my favorite strain at the moment. Keep in mind, I’m more of a sativa guy. I smoke everything but I prefer weed that stimulates me and/or leaves me with a clear head for the most part, mostly to help with my adhd. This does a great job at that, unlike other 25+% thc dispensary Maui Wowie cultivars I’ve tried. The Most (dispensary) sativa leaning strains I get nowadays are totally hybridized even when labeled a “pure sativa”. To keep things simple, this is what I expect/wish a “sativa hybrid” to feel like - stimulated and energized, but relaxed and free of anxiety or racing thoughts. I feel euphoric, not drowsy, clearheaded and all while my mind is slowed to a reasonable pace.
The flavor of this bud is exceptional and leafly describes it well. Tropical and fruity, with floral notes.
My buddy gets to test his homegrows for free because his contract with the lab allows so I got to see the terp profile :) …
Myrcene - .52%
a-Pinene - .28%
Linalool - .09%
Limonene - .05%
Ocimene - .04%
This terp profile stumps me a little bit as far as effects, but not flavor. The myrcene contributes to the earthy fruity smell. The pinene gives the myrcene a smoother edge, adding more to the sweet flavor. Linalool, the floral terpene is a sneaky one: anything over .02% can make a huge difference in flavor in my experience. With that being said, the linalool rounds it all out with a light flowery sweetness. Limonene is lemony and citrusy, making a great contribution to the tropical fruit flavor. Ocimene is minty, but this small amount just “brightens” the rest of the scents.
The reason I’m confused about the effects is because myrcene generally has a noticeable sedative affect for me, and I don’t notice that at all. Alpha pinene seems to make the weed relaxed without sedation which makes sense. Linalool normally just saves me from any anxiety, but combined with myrcene it seems to add to the sedative effect. Limonene is generally more alert and energetic but there’s such a low amount. The .05% must be holding up the energetic side of things. I haven’t noticed anything specific from Ocimene yet but in my reading I found a source that said “Ocimene has shown to provide synergy (referring to a relaxing entourage effect) when combined with other terpenes, including alpha-pinene and myrcene.” Normally limonene and especially terpinolene are the terpenes I look to for energetic effects but they both tested low: .05 and .007 respectively.
All in all, epic strain. Testing in at 14.7% THC / 1.2% CBD, this takes a very high spot in my all time favorite strains. Amazing floral tropical fruit taste/smell and perfect ganja for a euphoric, but productive daytime smoke. If I could give people clones/seeds of this phenotype I would
This is my favorite strain of all time. I suffer from extreme anxiety, stress, panic attacks, and depression. This strain is uplifting, relaxing and always makes me feel better.
I think this is by far my favorite strain in cartridge form so far. Very uplifting, euphoric, and energetic. It’s a great high, but not foggy. Tastes and smells amazing too!
Nice smoke left me coughing with an energetic, meaningful high. Amazing smell when i oped my grinder the whole room immediately went tropic thunder
I should probably provide some context before I confuse some folks...
***Hawaiian strains are just my jelly jam... Yes, they're Sativa, but there's just something about them because they're also the most beautiful body sensations (to me) of most strains, including many indica's, that they wind up being far more relaxing than the just the energizing effects everyone else seems to get from sativa strains.***
That being said, Maui is most definitely WOWie! This is my ideal strain. It's more body tingle than the melty feel you get from Pineapple Express. YES, you most certainly CAN do any and everything you need to do throughout the day, and then some (especially on sunny days :D)... but TAKE IT SLOW! Because too much of this can sooth you into an absolute coma if you're like me. Yes, you get the pineapple, yes you get the island flavor and scents. If Hawaiian Lofi had a spirit animal, it would be Maui Wowie.
Beware to anyone super sensitive to sativa induced paranoia. I had uncontrollable racing, anxious thoughts, and very benign things happening around me (a guy stopping to let his dog pee by my front yard late at night) seemed sinister. I know I’m an outlier, but for I thought maybe this review could help fellow paranoia-prone smokers avoid a bad experience.
